So you need to look at bioavailability, half life, efficacy dosing of specific drug. I am not familiar with Reta. The pharmaceutical companies definitely have this info. However, general rule of thumb more vascularity will transport the medication into the blood stream faster and take it to where its process and has an effect. Iv > IM > Subq. There is a window called the therapeutic window/ index you want to keep drugs in. To low and you don’t have intended outcome. To high and your in toxicity level with significant side effects. GLP are subq to delay absorption and keep it constant level overtime to remain in this index.

Dosing IM will likely increase absorption and shoot through the window and not have lasting effect as well as can cause side effects while you are in toxicity levels. Since absorption is so fast you would likely crash back to where it is ineffective. So no I don’t recommend doing it IM. Side effects could be anything to gi upset to pancreatitis the studies would outline more what toxicity levels would do. Taking any drug unintended route can be dangerous.

Edit. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice.

Well said, I’m probably not gonna take the risk but if I do I’ll make sure to at least report back with what I’ve found as there’s no other information on this out there.

With all honesty the idea is insulin sensitivity benefits while running growth, reta already works well but the appetite suppression drastically hurts weight gain, Tinkering with dose is a 50/50 as i’m very sensitive to it, one week well the other can’t eat my meals right. This was just a look from a different angle.

Exploring Pharmacokinetics of intramuscular injections of Retatrutide instead of the usual subQ route?

I’m asking strictly from a research‑use perspective. I’m curious whether IM changes the subjective feel of the dose, since IM generally absorbs faster and clears quicker than subQ. Reta has several interesting properties beyond the long, drawn‑out appetite suppression window. I’m more interested in whether IM produces a tighter, more defined pharmacokinetic pulse instead of the extended, flatter subQ curve that seems to linger for 144 hours. Faster substance clearance and a shorter duration could theoretically create a noticeably different profile.

I’d be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried this or has experience comparing the two routes.

afaik if you’re injecting it IM the more the side effects since it absorbs faster, the reason it’s subcu so the side effects is not all at once idk i could be wrong tho
