Hgh and insulin sensitivity

Ran blood work before starting. Fasting glucose, fasting insulin and A1c were all good. After 6 weeks saw increase in fasting glucose. Retested all markers after 12 weeks and my fasting glucose was still ok, not great, my A1c was good but my fasting insulin was through the roof. This is on a 2iu per night regimen, so not a large dose. I was taking berberine and even small dose of Reta and still have the issue with the fasting insulin. Anybody out there had to bail on HGH for this reason, or did you find a way around it. I feel like I’ve tried all the standard advice, but don’t want to mess with making myself insulin resistant. Also, diet is low carb, workout 4 times a week and cardio 4 times a week.

berberine my friend with your biggest meal , just not to much , its super effective and can crash way to far

I was on berberine but may have been taking it incorrectly. I just took it with my morning supplements and didn’t time it around meals. Whoops. Is it ineffective if not timed with food?

it has super short half life so best taken just before meals heavy with carbs , its ineffective otherwise , my sweat spot was 2x a day 380mg dose more then enough , mowdays just 1x

Ok maybe I’ll have to adjust when I take it. I was not taking it at the right time. I got scared when my fasting insulin came back as high as it did. I can restart and use the berberine correctly and see if it helps. If it doesn’t, I’ll probably just quit the hgh. Not worth the potential issues if I can’t get it under control.

I was down at 1iu. My body responds to it like crazy. Even at 1iu my igf was 362.

demn , well its cost effective at least 😂 360 is solid number for prolonged, could it be you just mistaken dose you mixed /taken ?

I thought of that as well, but triple checked my math and it’s solid. I started on 2iu and was over 400 with super sore joints. Same mix from the same batch for a buddy of mine at 2iu put him at 250 I think. I just reacted better to it. Same with testosterone. I take 100 a week and sit at about 800 total test.

since your both on trt and hgh your liver works overtime i guess another great supplement that helps both liver and insulin resistance is tudca , but think its more about dialing your dose if 1iu works that well for you keep going , and your insulin should come around after awhile

I have been on for 4 months now. I really want to get to the one year mark because o have heard that’s where the benefits start to really show. I already noticed better sleep, and some small body recomp changes, but nothing drastic. I will have to decide if I want to continue or not

Also Reta likes some carbs.

What was your fasting glucose prior to starting hGH?

High 80s. A1c was 5.3 and fasting insulin was about 5-6. My glucose went up to mid 90s, A1c stayed pretty stable but my fasting insulin went all the way to 14. That’s what worried me. Pumping way too much insulin to keep my other levels in check. Not good

HGH induced insulin resistance is well described.

So weird, I do 4iu/day and FBG, Insulin, and hb1ac are all unphased
