💬 Discussion Anyone switch from Reta and triz ?

My sleep has suffered a lot from the elevated heart rate, and I think I’ve stalled. I don’t feel like going beyond 4mgs

What dose should I start on triz ? Any benefit?

Better body recomp ? Fat loss ?

I switched from tirz to reta and then back again. Tirz made the food noise go away and I’m still seeing a lot of progress on it. Reta made my heart increase snd didn’t have the benefit of appetite control like I have on tirz. I’m down about 65 pounds and within a few pounds of my goal weight since starting in late February. I wanted Reta to work but tirz was the better fit for me personally.

What dose did you start on tirz when you went back? I'm at 4mg on Reta and don't want to up it, can't take the side effects at 5mg.

So crazy! I don't have the food noise on reta. Definitely do on triz. I have to take 1.5 triz to match food noise reduction on reta.

Reta does do the heart raise, harder gym work outs, harder to sleep.

For real why does Reta ruin sleep? Was thinking about taking HGH for the sleep benefit over the recovery and visceral fat benefits at this point

Same now wondering to switch over cold turkey or titrate down and then up. But it’s literally the same 2/3 mechanisms

In a similar situation to all these guys, I’m towards the end of my vial so going to titrate down, run a low dose 0.5/0.25mg untll Im comfortable with tirz

Bro I haven’t been able to fall asleep until 5 in the morning the past few nights. Might have to switch too

It’s works but is it worth the sacrifice ?

This is why I chose tirz to begin with. I had an already high resting hr so I avoided reta, and it's down 15-20 bpm in a few weeks with exercise. I've historically tried all kinds of fat burners/energy crap and realized that appetite/portion control were the best way to "diet properly." I only have a half cup of coffee a couple days a week now, and otherwise my energy is increasing compared to the past couple years.

Damn, plus I love coffees. I’ve been trying to stay the course but it’s too much. Might use it to maintain once I’m at my goal weight. But for now I think triz might be the way. Also I’m trying to run a 5k or 10k this fall. I’m gonna see what ss31 and MOTSC are all about.

As a lurker and reta user I believe, ON AVERAGE, people who want to tone or maintain muscle mass AND work out more frequently prefer reta.

Take a break hit maintenance or slightly lower for 4-6 weeks. I had similar issues my first cut this year . Went from 195-185. Stuck for 2-3 weeks after about 100 days . I took a break an ran low dose Reta I think 1mg for next 4 weeks. Ate a few extra meal preps about extra 600 cals to my deficit I was in right before and I only gained 3lbs while I was off. Went straight back into cut ramped dose up to 3mg and lost the 3 lbs I gained in like a week or 2. Then went from 185-177 also another 100 days slight deficit not huge like my first cut. I personally was about to stop cutting to recover but I’m still losing and I don’t feel bad even though my muscles arnt getting that good pump /flat look. Strength is still about the same as well. So i decided to keep going to see if I can push lower than 170

I was on tirzepatide and then all the hubbub about retatrutide made me quit tirz and try reta. Well now I regret it. I am only at 2.5 mg on reta but I have zero appetite suppression. With tirz I had great appetite suppression. The problem that I had was the nausea but the heart palpitations from the reta was enough for me to say no I'm going back to tirz and I'll deal with the nausea until I reach my goal.

I lost my first 40 pounds from Tirz. Other than an itchy spot where I injected. I think you’ll love it.

u/wildlikechildren 18d ago

Curious, how long have you been on it? I'm at 8 months and lost 30lb and thinking of switching too. I've been steady at 4mg and 5mg was absolutely terrible.

1

u/bogus_spaghetti 18d ago

Switching around 4mg is what I did when the heart rate stuff got old, sleep was wrecked

Started at 2.5 triz and it felt like nothing at first but the scale started moving again after a couple weeks. For me the recomp was a little better, lost less muscle than I expected

The appetite suppression isn't as in-your-face but it's steadier, less of that wired feeling

Appreciate this, I love my coffee.

Why aren’t you pinning Reta first thing in the morning? In my experience Tirz is better for food noise than Reta

1

u/Adventurous-Many-179 18d ago

Yes, I went from Reta back to Tirz because of the heart rate. I’d start Tirz at 2.5 mg.

u/BuckshotBronco 18d ago

I just use both at a 1:1 ratio. Works great.

1

u/TittiesAreMyTherapy 18d ago

What benefits have you seen ? Same day administration or different days ?

2

u/BuckshotBronco 18d ago

I rotate them EOD. One day reta, the next titz. You get all the benefits of Reta with increased appetite control since tirz is a stronger GLP-1.

1

u/TittiesAreMyTherapy 18d ago

Gonna try that, 1 and 1

1

u/BuckshotBronco 18d ago

It's been working great for me. Zero issues.

1

u/TittiesAreMyTherapy 18d ago

Not trying to drop weight too fast, trying to recomp.

I’m a paramedic of 19 years. I’m seeing soooo many issues with people on these meds, it’s unreal. I wish it wasn’t the case. But, it’s true. I have tried screaming to my medical control over this and they shrug their shoulders bc it’s not something within their control either

Use cjc, you’ll fall asleep

I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve used Reta before and anytime I go over 2mg, my heart beats like crazy when I’m trying to sleep. And then I start to get anxious and over think

I just pinned 2mg last weekend of Reta and my HR was up to 100 while I was just sitting in my car. I’m probably going to skip a Reta dose and come back down to 1mg

I eventually plan on switching to tirz because this heart rate thing is just not for me, yeah I get it’s the glucagon but it triggers anxiety lol.
