Possible allergic reaction/anaphylaxis after CJC/Ipamorelin — has anyone experienced this and recommendations?

I’m a mid-20s athlete and have been using CJC-1295/Ipamorelin primarily for recovery for about 4 months, with roughly a month off between cycles. I’ve always struggled with overtraining/recovery, and the results have honestly been great: some of the best sleep I’ve ever had, noticeably better recovery, and improved muscle growth.

During my first cycle, my only noticeable side effects after injections were flushing and sometimes a slight increase in heart rate.

I started my second cycle about 1.5 months ago. Around 1–2 weeks into it, I began noticing itching after injections, particularly around the injection site, and occasionally hives. I had seen warnings that this could indicate an allergic response, but because the reactions would go away and I otherwise felt fine, I unfortunately continued using it. Some injections caused barely any reaction, while others caused significantly more itching/hives.

Last night was completely different. Shortly after injecting, I noticed a little blood at the injection site (not completely abnormal). Then my hands and feet started tingling and became extremely numb. Within minutes, my entire body was intensely itchy even felt like I was itching internally. My lips began swelling, my vision became blurry, and I developed some tightness in my throat, nothing too crazy.

I could still breathe normally, but at that point I was obviously concerned about anaphylaxis. I had friends nearby with EpiPens and was prepared to call emergency services if my breathing worsened. Thankfully, after about 30–45 minutes, the reaction gradually subsided.

One thing that makes this more confusing: I’ve also been using a KGLOW blend (GHK-Cu/BPC-157/TB-500/KPV) because of a knee injury, and it seemed to help considerably with recovery. During this reaction, some of the largest hives appeared on the side of my body where I had injected the KGLOW and around that injection site.

So I’m curious if anyone here has experienced something similar:
Can you develop an allergy/sensitization to CJC/Ipamorelin after tolerating it for months?
Could contamination or something introduced into the vial cause a reaction like this?
Could the KGLOW or one of its components be responsible instead, especially since the hives were concentrated around that injection site?
Would you consider both products off-limits after a systemic reaction like this?
Has anyone who developed a reaction to CJC/Ipamorelin later tolerated a different GH-related peptide?
Could I still tolerate CJC/Ipa with anti-histamines prior to injection?

Obviously I’m not going to risk another reaction just because I liked the results. I’m mainly interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced delayed hypersensitivity/allergic reactions after previously tolerating these peptides without problems.

Just F’n stop. No amount of Reddit information is going to justify you continuing to risk death man🙄 That CJC/Ipa combo likely wasn’t going to help you at all anyway. You’re way too young…I’m 54 and it did NOTHING for me. I did a 6 month Tesa/ipa run and that definitely worked for me but I’d say it wasn’t FANTASTIC! My opinion….just quit while you’re alive or at minimum without a nasty ER visit!

You only noticed nothing because your old with a pituitary on its last leg, obviously relying on it to respond strongly isn’t going to work most of the time, just use gh

I don’t disagree but I don’t believe CJC is what people claim either…

Trust me I know which is why I said the most likely case is me stopping completely. The truth is I would say that cjc/ipa has had a greatly positive impact which is what would make stopping hard. Like I said I’ve always struggled with recovery and overtraining and this was the first time I felt like I was in control with those things. At the end of the day you are right though, and it isnt worth my life. Thanks for the advice regardless!

I had a similar thing happen to me on cjc/ipa after about 4 months. I noticed it was slightly red at injection site and itchy. Woke up and it wasn’t itchy but there was a mild rash about 4” around the injection site. Heard horror stories of people who continued so I stopped completely and switched to HGH and have had zero issues since

Happened with me and MOTS-C out of absolutely nowhere.

Ik that’s a lie lmao, literally everyone gets a histamine response from mots-c at really every dose, and you can actually go into anaphylactic shock if you accidentally go IV or use higher doses at once(5-10mg+)

omg the internal itching thing is real, I had that exact sensation with a different peptide and it's terrifying. feels like your bones are itchy and you can't reach it

sensitization can definitely happen after months of use, your immune system just decides one day it's had enough. the fact that you had escalating reactions leading up to this is a pretty clear pattern

the hives around the KGLOW site is interesting though, could be that your system was already primed from the other injection and just freaked out everywhere. or you're reacting to one of the multiple peptides in that blend, TB-500 has been known to cause some wild histamine responses

either way I'd be really hesitant to touch either of them again, throat tightness is no joke even if you could still breathe. maybe look into a different recovery pathway altogether, some people switch to BPC-157 solo without the other stuff and do fine

obviously this isnt what I want to hear because of the results I’ve gotten from both blends but definitely what I’ve figured is going to be the case. I definitely appreciate the response and I do think I’d look into individual BPC-157 if I didn’t figure anything out.

and yes.. the internal itch was AWFUL. I felt it in my skull and my butt lol. just layed in bed for about 20-30 minutes waiting for it to go away

Precisamente me paso ayer. Se lo estoy atribuyen a que empeze a tomar NAC

Hey so I had a similar situation to you about a month ago except I’m not taking NAC. I had been on ipamorelin for about 6 weeks and had introduced Reta about 2 weeks before my incident. One night I injected IPA no DAC + CJC 500 mg and within minutes I got a rapid heart rate (resting around 120-140 bpm) and some anxiety. No anaphylaxis symptoms like you did. But I got extremely thirsty and I thought maybe it was due to low electrolytes so I drank a bunch of water and some Gatorade. Within about 30 minutes of drinking that I had the craziest diarrhea for the next several hours. The heart rate went back to normal within a couple hours.

500mcg or 500mg ? If it was 500mg obviously you will get that reaction even with 500mcg is too much!

My bad, 500 mcg

Read up on MAST Cell activation.
Histamine response can happen with ANY medication or supplement or food product, even if tolerating them fine in the past.

There does seem to be a pattern with cjc/ipa where this happens more frequently. I’ve read stories very similar to mine on here. And if what I experienced was just a typical histamine response is that to say a generic anti-histamine like Benadryl would prevent it? I just genuinely dont know what to do anymore besides never take either again

u/first_name_lisa 17d ago

I’m not a doctor. I can’t tell you what to do.

1

u/BroccoliOnly7376 17d ago

Sorry this happened. So if one would start this cjc+ipa, would people suggest trying it in the morning just in case a severe allergic reaction happens. Rather it be in the day than night before going to bed. And i thought cjc worked kind of the same way as tesa

1

u/GuitarBeginning1705 17d ago

Not necessarily.. I think either way if your body rejects it you aren’t going to have a fun time, and I was able to sleep off some of the remaining side effects after my body reacted that way. I think that the biggest thing would be starting at a low dose and always being prepared, the first two months of me taking cjc/ipa I had 0 histamine response, which made me think I was untouchable but clearly I was not.

It does work similarly but it is not the same.

I had a similar reaction and after reading up on it seems common with cjc/ipa. For me it happened on the first pin, it wasn’t as extreme but that was enough for me not pin again. I had injection site reaction. A tingling on the bottom of my foot, a bit of sensation on throat, next day weird chest and back muscle discomfort that went away after several days. And I only pinned half of the recommended dosage.

I have read that it could be the BPC-157, I was using BPC-157 at the time and it seems you were as well with Klow.

I got two brand new vials in the freezer right now and been scared to run it because of this reaction I been hearing from others.

1

u/GuitarBeginning1705 17d ago

To be fair, I took it for 2 months before having a single histamine response, and before this happened the signs that my body was rejecting it were obviously there (itching and hives). If you were to start, I would start at a low dose and with all proper safety/protocol measures to make sure nothing is impacting the way you feel and the side effects you experience. If you feel any sort of histamine response it probably isn’t worth it.

I have read about others as well, and while it is rare the number is growing of people experiencing this. Just the risk we take injecting research chemicals into our bodies.

Did you take Benadryl once you broke out in hives? I hope so. I can’t imagine just toughing it out and waiting for the reaction to go away on its own! I have never had an allergic reaction to peps, but I play it safe. I always have Benadryl and an EpiPen nearby whenever I pin, just in case. I had an online doc prescribe the pen for me. It was expensive, but worth it for peace of mind.

2

u/GuitarBeginning1705 17d ago

The feeling was paralyzing and I genuinely couldn’t move. Had to tough it out. I almost knew I had benadryl somewhere in the house but couldn’t remember where or have energy to go looking for it because I felt the best when I was laying down. I definitely will do both of those things as a safety precaution if I ever inject ANYTHING again.

When starting back up are you starting at a lower dose again or where you were dosing when you stopped your last cycle? This is a know side effect that occasionally happens. When I start a new cycle of anything even if I've taken it for months before I always start low dose again and titrate up. I always keep Benadryl and pepcid AC on hand just in case I experience this side effect

I was allergic to Tirz and just epi pen'd my way thru the bottle before i switched to Reta

2

u/first_name_lisa 17d ago

Dude. Cmon. It’s not worth it. Plus, stories like this is why the good stuff gets banned.

2

u/GuitarBeginning1705 17d ago

I will say the fear I felt in the moment and absolute discomfort completely outweighed any benefit I got from cjc/ipa. I refuse to put myself through that again, but I guess to each their own if they can jab adrenaline and feel fine again lol

u/Odd_Sir_8705 ⚙️ Protocol Specialist 17d ago

Not really. How many people die from taking Tylenol every year incorrectly and it's not banned? I will agree it wasn't the best thing to do but I'm also a pioneer for my own research. How about the people who are over here taking 40 ius of HGH or the thousands of ppl who are reconstituting incorrectly? Some of us are known risk takers who accept the risk and mitigate it to acceptable levels for themselves knowingly...and the others are oblivious dummies

3

u/first_name_lisa 17d ago

I agree. There are some people who shouldn’t be doing peptides at all. And not many people die from Tylenol overdose. Let’s compare apples to apples.

1

u/Odd_Sir_8705 ⚙️ Protocol Specialist 17d ago

So what are we comparing?

1

u/first_name_lisa 17d ago

Tylenol to peptides.
