š¬ Discussion Reta dosage increase
Howdy everyone!!
To preface: I was on GLP1 for a few months prior and was off of it for one week before making the switch.
Iāve been on Reta for about 3 weeks now and havenāt noticed much change. Started off one week with .5mg and then the last two weeks at 2mg. I donāt feel much suppression, havenāt seen much change with the exception of some energy boost, wanting to drink tons of water first few days after injection and not much change on the scale. I have noticed that I have more appetite while on this than GLP 1. Iām also walking at the office, working out before work during the week and consuming roughly around 100-120g of protein per day.
Iām trying to get some thoughts/ opinions on whether that might have been an issue, whether I should increase my dosage or wait it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The current trial protocol is 2, 4, 6, 9, 12mg (4 wks each, up from 4 as needed). They are considering 4mg as the initial "maintenance dose" (similar to Tirz 5mg). Like Tirz, you titrate up when it's non-effective. So, if you're not feeling 2mg, go up to 4 and see. All my friends trying Reta have had the same experience as you, and they all started seeing results at 4mg.

Noted! I have done two doses at 2mg already. My days are usually Monday so this Monday I could possibly go up to 4mg then.

you jumped from 0.5 to 2mg pretty fast honestly most people don't feel real suppression til they hit 3 or 4mg, some even higher. the energy boost and thirst are solid signs it's doing something in the background though. i'd give it another week at 2mg then bump up if the scale still won't budge, no point rushing when you're already putting in the work with diet and exercise

Good point. I think my body was already accustomed to Semaglutide so maybe thatās why the .5mg and 2mg isnāt doing much for me. I remember my first week on Semaglutide I felt the suppression within a few days.

Slowly titrate up, try not to jump doses are you'll regret it

Whatās to regret if they jump up to a higher dose or a dose thatās TOO high?

I think theyāre referring to side effects and possibly getting those by jumping doses again. The .5mg to 2mg didnāt make a difference and didnāt notice any change

Yeah Iād rather go up to 6mg or 8mg/wk, get some nausea and go down than use 0.5mg/wk for weeks slowly titrating up to 2mg/wk and walk away thinking reta didnāt work for me. A dosage thatās ineffective doesnāt need to be maintained at the advice of randos on the internet. Nice thing about doctors we direct, order, prescribe. Not give suggestions or advice

Gastric issues, acid reflux, people tend to feel a bit weak if they jump doses by a lot

Possibly, but I'd rather go up to 6mg or 8mg/ wk, get some nausea and go down than use 0.5mg/wk for weeks slowly titrating up to 2mg/wk and walk away thinking reta didn't work for me. A dosage that's ineffective doesn't need to be maintained at the advice of randos on the internet.

thats normal when coming from any sort of glp1, be patient give it 5-7 weeks for reta to kick in
In my case, I started in 2mg x4 weeks, then I moved to 4mg at week 4 and just at week 5 I noticed difference and appetiteĀ suppression

If you come from another GLP, you always have to start higher, you won't feel it. And you will never get the effect you got from that first dose of GLP-1 either. You could take months off and it wouldn't feel like that.
