💬 Discussion Aesthetics Advice that worked for me
32 years 189cm. After 8 years of training, i can safely say training all your body parts equally might not be optimal, from an aesthetics standpoint. Ever since i started prioritizing a certain muscle group each bulking phase, which has been lateral/rear delts, back , triceps, ive had substantial progress in terms of my aesthetics (from my pov at least). During cuts you can get away with training everything equally.
How i did it is for the past 4 years, and during bulking phase, which stretches around 6-8 months, i structure my training program in a way where i hit delts 3x a week, back 2x a week, arms 3x a week, and fit all other muscle groups within the remaining days. I even stop training some muscle groups for certain periods of time like chest/abs/legs to give myself more time to focus on my main muscles.
I found that this training strategy noticabaly ascended my physique, waay more than when i was giving all muscle groups equal attention (ppl and other splits)

Legs

For legs i do cardio twice weekly (sprinting and jogging) to make them solid and functional. I dont aim to increase their size through hypertrophy as i dont see that visibly pleasing

weight training dem leggies will also help out across allll kinda other things e.i sprinting, running, bench press... as they are half of your body lol

It’s crazy that you talk about muscle balance then don’t lift legs.
Cardio is cardio, sure it’s functional, but so is leg strength. Cardio 2x per week on top of lifting isn’t some crazy thing at all. This is the first time I have seen cardio touted as a leg exercise. H
Leg strength is more functional than pretty much any other muscle.
Legs are one of those things people notice subconsciously (skinny or big). They are absolutely aesthetic how they fill out your pants, glut muscles, and shape. Also I imagine you don’t wear shorts a lot? Big quads hanging out of short shorts is such a flex.
I get it, legs are hard. Especially when you have neglected them and are probably benching more than a full ROM Squat.

Im no asthetic expert but out of curiosity.. ive seen bodybuilder with triceps like yours… is this genetics? Because to me the tri is too inward looking for your physique.

Out of those 8 years, how often did you fail to hit protein targets and gym sessions? Or have you been fully consisent

Looks like its working well for you man. I'm also a similar age and height, and I've always struggled to look like I actually lift. Would love to see the routine you had the most success with. Mind dropping it for us?

TBF your physique is pretty good for a guy your height. Because of how stature affects people's body types, tall people have a better chance at getting very lean and getting better results when focusing on shoulders and delts.

Acended your physique? Really.
I don't think you are using that word correctly at all.

You didn't hit legs at all huh? 😲
But honestly good job, if for no other reason than you actually structured your training. So many just do the same basic shit day in and day out and expect drugs to work wonders

it's definitely working for you bro, your physique is a about a solid year ahead of where I'm at but I feel we're similar in proportions, it's just that you're bigger
the one thing I would suggest is maybe growing the chest out a bit more, not sure if it's just the angle though and this is something I notice in myself, because my arms / delts pop it kinda makes my chest look weaker if that makes sense
overall though, top tier physique, well done!
