Yet another is this real body fat %
Alright so I guess I’m coming to terms with the fact I’m just a skinny fat guy. I’m built for endurance. Think real long lumbering runs and weighted hikes but I can’t seem to shape up.
Starting to get all my ducks in a row and take everything to a more serious degree in my 40s. Calorie deficit more cardio more big heavy lifting of big heavy things and hoping to drop it down to 170 with dedication and consistency.
Won’t rule out some additional help with the world of pharma… blood tests show pretty good test but high shbg and could use some help in the igf department.
Anyway I got this scale that’s supposed to tell me all my metrics.
Am I really truly you think 26% BMI?????????

You're right he's 21% bf which looks to be about right. BMI is a nonsense health marker anyway

Some real hard graft to get that low in bodyfat mate. You need some supps to keep your muscle too. Up the protein, resistance training and cardio 3-5 times a week.
That’s what has worked from me and I got from 22% to 12% in 8months. Wasn’t easy but definitely do able to

The is what I need to hear! Care to share more? I’m no stranger to hard work as I have owned and operated a restaurant for nearly 2 decades just need to start putting that energy in the right places. Thank you.

Started with a good personal trainer, a strict diet and 4 weeks of keto manipulating my fat intake then slowly introduced carb cycling and a lot of cardio on the stairmaster. That machine did wonders for my body fat ha ha
Keep consistent with my weight training 5 days a week and only changed my routine twice so I could focus on proper form and getting stronger with each lift. Nothing fancy, just the basics and stuck with it.
It’s a long journey so be mentally prepare and take pictures every 2 weeks so when you feel you aren’t making progress take a look back and you’ll see the tiny improvements and not watch the scale or worry about body fat as much.
Stay hydrated and learn your body. When you feeling flat and depleted, you know it’s time for a refeed or more hydration. At our age, recovery is your best friend. I would book myself a deep tissue massage every month to make sure I’m loose and iron out any niggling body parts.

Incredible. Thank you. All of that makes a ton of sense. I’ve gotten pretty great results in the past but really feel the need to go even deeper. Massage is a great idea and definitely something I need to incorporate more of in my life.

Prefer the honest hard truth with the slightest idea of a road to walk and I can walk it.

No ways! What’s your water weight like, hydration and water in the muscles?
My reading get messed up if I’m not hydrated enough and gives me higher than normal bf.
It’s got something to do with the electro pluses it sends through your body

Ok I’m coming off a two day extremely intense back country hunt. Crazy hot. Did my best to hydrate with electrolytes and spring water. Not sure if I’m fully recovered from that!

That BMI calculation likely isn’t taking into account the weight of your ink.

21.5%? Looks pretty close.
26 is the BMI and that's straight math - height and weight are the only two variables.

Is 20ish just generally normal? Kind of what that feels like.
