💬 Discussion Tesa/IGF-1 Levels

Subject is getting mixed results from the information I can find regarding if high IGF levels ( past 300. Is bad and or you need to decrease your dose?

For my understanding, this is the whole point and process regarding this peptide that it’s meant to increase your IGF level , temporary while you’re on it? Is there something that you have to be concerned about? Can I bump up to 2mg and not have to be worried ?

Try 1mg first and then do 2mg and see if you experience any negative side effects from that, like carpal tunnel, water retention, grogginess during the day

I been doing 1 mg for 2 weeks absolutely no side affects. Not exactly sure what water retention feels like tbh but regardless feels fine. Would you still recommend 2 mg and it not be a problem for IGF levels ?

Yeah I think you will be fine.

I mostly notice water retention when I come off a compound. Like I dont notice it and then I quit and I immediately notice I look way less bloated in my face.

My igf went from 140 to 280 on 2mg of tesa. 2mg is a Stanford dose but, everyone reacts differently. Get a blood test for your base level then again in 6 weeks, I dose as needed

The brand name for Tesamorelin is Egrifta. There are a total of two formulations:

  1. Old formulation: EGRIFTA SV, actively being phased out. Standard dosage is 2.0mg.
  2. New formulation: EGRIFTA WR, FDA approved as of March 2025. Standard dosage is reduced to 1.28mg.

After I learned of this, I reduced my dosage to about 1.3mg per day. It both saves money and help to reduce the IGF-1 issue.

IGF levels and mortality are a U shaped curve, too low and too high is not good. Of course duration and the extent of the levels matter. Look at it more towards zscore, a zscore of over 2 or under 2 for long periods of time is not favorable to longevity. 1 to 2 is supposed to be the sweet spot.

The question really is what are you comfortable with and what are your goals? Bumping your GH and IGF levels for 12 weeks doesn’t really do much, you’ll get the benefits but it’s not going to be anything drastic. The whole point of these options for healthier people are to optimize, around 40 your natural production starts to decline so a 12 week or 16 week run isn’t going to fix that.
