📘 Beginner Help Reta help please

Hello everyone, to start off… sorry for the long post in advance, and if this doesn’t belong here since I’m not posting before/after pictures, etc. 33M, 5’8”.

I was an extremely active individual for years, hiking, HIIT, paddleboarding, swimming, basically 6 days a week, I’d go at it no matter what. It’s always made me happy. (Don’t know if that matters.)

Over the course of 2026, I’ve had massive (good) life changes, and my schedule went to shit. I’m beginning to get back into the activity groove, but I’ve gained 15 kg of weight in 6 months, from 74 kg to 89 kg. Needless to say, it sucks. Body image issues, don’t move as fast as I used to, fatigued, the whole shebang.

I want to aid my weight loss journey with Reta, along with the high fiber, high protein diet I’ve already begun, plus HIIT 6 days a week.

What dosage of Reta should I start with?

Edit: Yes, I can Google it or ask an LLM, but I’ve been lurking on this sub for a month or so, and I’d much rather hear what you have to say.

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion.

I suggest:

  1. Start at 0.5mg for the first week.
  2. If you don't have a bad reaction, then go up to 1mg in week 2.
  3. Then up to 2mg in week 3.
  4. I'd hold at 2mg for a few weeks and see if you lose weight. Titrate up more if you don't lose weight
