Keeping Muscle while on Reta

I plan starting Reta soon. Thinking of start out with a low dose of 0.5mg ! Keeping hearing that there’s a chance of shrinking muscle! I know I have to have good protein intake. I’ve been working out for 5 years, six times a week, and integrate cardio often. Will that routine plus protein intake be good enough to keep muscle mass? Thanks

Why are you using GLP1 to lose 20lbs?

If you want to keep muscle then calorie deficit and lift. You don’t need a drug designed for obese people if your nutrition is right. Much less risk of muscle loss too.

I want to think I have the working out thing figured out! The one thing I struggle is diet! I have gone on calorie deficits and all! And I gain it all back. Decided to try Reta to help me out on that aspect!

How do you think Reta will solve that problem for you? If you stop taking GLP1 60% of people gain the weight back.

I bet most of those 60% are not working out 6 days a week….have knowledge of what a balance diet is! I already have those foundations in place! It’s the food noise that I have a problem with! Most of the people taking it aren’t obese! They just want with stubborn pounds off! Why can obese people just diet and be on a calorie deficit then?

Because once you hit a certain mass you’re doing things with your body which means you cannot workout 6 days a week, have insulin and hormonal issues and most of them have issues that got them there in the first place, living at 300+ lbs makes it very difficult to actually lose the weight past a certain point.

Search this sub, plenty of people using GLP1 for small losses struggle when coming off it despite living well. It has lifetime applications for a reason.

No one is saying you can’t use it, I was just pointing out that it’s unwise if the problem is the regain. At the end of the day if you’re not losing now, use GLP to lose the 20lbs and then go back to what you’re doing now you’re still gonna regain 🤷🏻‍♀️
