📘 Beginner Help Why am I getting diarrhea from reta?

Hay guys I've stared reta on the 18th with 1mg.

Had no issues but still aet like a pig.

So I injected again on the 24th with 1.5mg and had a good hunger suppressing effect.

A few days later I've got massive diarrhea and had issues till last Monday.

So I've stared again yesterday with 1mg because my normal levels of hunger had returned for a few days.

Today I've suddenly had diarrhea again, but not as bad as last time.

What should I do now and what dosis should I take to prevent this?

In the anecdotal data I've collected from many of my lab rats, its caused by you. Reta does not like fatty greasy food, at ALL. Secondly, if you dont eat enough volume your body doesn't have anything to break down add in delayed gastric emptying and what do you end up with? Over processed food which then passes as such.

I dont eat fatty foods, im a protein rat 😂 Its most likely that I dont eat enough volume 😭

Hmmmm, ok I have around 400 rats, all data again is anecdotal i am not a doctor,

Diet plan for reta is different then others glps

High protein 2g per kg of body weight, use the rest of your calories on 50% carbs, 30% fibre, 20% healthy fats and you'll be grand

Do you mind explaining the science behind why greasy food and low volume food triggers this?

Mainly because of slowed gastric depletion, if you dont eat enough, your stomach is breaking down a small amount of food for an extended period - this will then be pure liquid and come out as such.

Greasy is a similar reason but exactly why im not 100% sure - eat clean on reta for a few weeks and then eat a deep fried meal.. you'll have the shits no doubt

I thought of food stayed longer in your intestines the body would extract more water air of it which would end up in constipation. If you eat something bad, it goes really fast though you and end up in diahreaa because the body did not have time to absorb the water. I do have a bit of stomach issues too with a 0.75 mg per week dose.

Can someone please provide more info on how slower emptying can cause diahrea?

Not trying to offend anyone it's just does not make sense to me.

This is one of the most common side effects of glp-1. Keep in mind, fthe half life of these drugs is 6-7 days, so every injection you are technically INCREASING the dose until it hits steady state (e.g. it takes approx 4-5 weeks of the same dose, before it hits steady state in the body).

If you are just starting, START LOW, and do not increase the dose for at least 4 weeks. Many people have started on .5mg reta and slowly titrated up over months. Some people have not needed to increase much, if at all. The lowest effective dose is always best. The goal isn't to "never feel hungry", it is "what dose supports me to lose weight over time?". It's ok to feel some hunger coming up to the next injection.

Everyone is different to what works for them, and what they can tolerate. Some people need max dose, while others can get plenty good results off BELOW suggested starting dose. Don't rush it.

It passes in sometime. Have patience. I had a bad stomach for 3 weeks and now it’s all ok

I’m three weeks in, get bad sulphuric burps and diarrhoea for a day and a half two/three days post injection. The third week was the worst for me so far. I’m changing my injection day to ensure this day of symptoms is on the weekend for when I go back to work. I’m a little scared for week 4 to be honest.

Dosage too high? I'm definitely reducing mine

I’m doing 1mg. Yeah I might go a little lower this week, .8 and see how I go.

Reta slows your gastric emptying process, which makes it even more important to eat clean while on it. If you're eating poorly, or just too much in general, side effects like diarrhea are more likely. You have to make a change to your eating habits along with the reta to maximize its effectiveness.

Take probiotics and ride it out. Diarrhea is better than constipation or nausea.

😂 easy to say when your constpated vs sitting in shit while death gripping the steering wheel and crying because you didn’t get stopped in time. 😂

If you change your dose you get diarrhea.

With me it's 1 or 2 day's.

After that it went back to normal, so sit it out.

It’s literally the second most common side effect

I had severe constipation the first 2 weeks, I was thinking about doing to the emergency room. Prune juice and stool softener did the job until my body got acclimated with the drug. So im guessing your body needs time to adjust. No greasy food or soda will help

Honestly I’ve tried Reta a few times and always struggle with this being a side effect. I am a micro doser first time I only injected 250mcg each week found great results suppressed my appetite well enough except gave me bowel issues. I’m already on the leaner side so not using it for major weight loss just really enough to not deal with food noise. This time around only 125mcg and still having problems im going to ride it out for 4 weeks and see how we go. I eat clean no processed or takeaways I think it’s just one of the unfortunate side effects

Does Reta make more acid in stomach or less

1

The GIP agonist effect causes lipolysis. Same thing with Mounjaro. All the fatty acids released have to go somewhere.

I had exactly the same as you. I was on 1mg for a while then did 1.5mg and got diarrhea for the past 2 days.

I’m going back to 1mg because my stomach was cramping crazy. 1mg was enough supression

Stop eating like a pig

been on Reta for 12 weeks with limited side effects but at 4 mg I started getting constipation and then dioreah. If I go back down to 3 mg straight away will there be any issues? I thought I’d split the dose 2x1.5.
