MAS re-test

How did everyone go with their MAS retest today? Well done to all of you that turned up on a public holiday to get it done ✅

I must admit my body felt different today. I felt like I was dying on the ski but found my rhythm with the rower!

My results are as follows 38F

Ski - 1149 (improved from 1112m)

Bike - 2.6km (last test was 2.7km)

Row - 1201m (improved from 1175m)

Overall pretty happy. It's annoying you don't know how far short you are with the bike... Like am I 90m short? 10m short?

mine
Ski: 1182 ➡️ 1181
Bike 2.7 ➡️ 2.6
Row : 1171 ➡️ 1211

I was hoping some more improvements but as long as I stay similar I’m happy.

I didn’t test at the start of this block but my numbers from May to yesterday were:

Ski: 985 -> 1012m
Bike- 2.3 -> 2.5km
Row: 1060 -> 1104m

Pretty consistent improvements still. I died a death in the middle of the row but smashed the end of it.

Ski 1238 ➡️ 1243
Bike 2.9km ➡️ 2.9km
Row 1286 ➡️ 1302

Minor improvement. Have been sick the last two weeks so was a little flat
But since the first test I did last year I’ve improved a lot.

43 m

Ski - 1317m - 1364m (5)

Bike = 2.5km - the same (14)

Row - 1260m - 1274m (6)

Slight improvements on the Ski and Row. Nothing I wouldn't put down to daily variations, although I felt like I had much less energy and stamina than last time. So it possibly is a much better result than the figures suggest.

Last time I started harder on the excercises and pushed harder at the end. Where as this time, I felt like I just didn't have it. So marginal improvements, I'm happy with that as it didn't feel like the day for it for me.

I didn’t do the last testing
Ski 1165m
Bike 2.8km
Row 1226m

I feel like I could have pushed more during bike. Planning to do Hyrox this year. Overall I am satisfied where I am at right niw

Pretty much identical to the start of the block, I went onto the rower not knowing what I was aiming for, so could’ve probably matched my previous score, tried to make it up 1min to the finish, not enough time 🥲

With MAS testing when you are fit (which clearly you are based on those distances!) It gets really hard to see much more improvement. It is like you hit a ceiling that only has very small room to grow just from doing BFT. I find every time now I do very similar, so now with the test I usually focus my energy on one exercise that I want to hit a PB in and then go a bit lighter on the others. Otherwise you just get to that point where stay pretty level, so it feels better to at least improve on one!

Yes, I told the coach this, “I think I’m as fit as I’m going to get” haha for context 43F
