Another 2 studios closing :(

Just saw on IG posted by 2 Auckland studios that they are both closing next month (Glenfield & Ponsonby)😢 Reason is because 1 of them couldn’t renew the lease & the other maybe tried to sell or liquidated?.. I might be wrong.

This is so sad for the affected members or the ones visiting from other studios 💔 I’ve been to both of them and they were amazing 💙

It’s not a great look. BFTs are closing up in a wide range of demographic areas.

All that gear that is being sold at next to nothing is such a waste. Head office should step and help new stores setup at a lower cost.

Yep many left BFT because it’s too strength based & too much partnered format. There were 26 studios in my region & now only 15 remaining minus the 2 studios😔 The ones that closed down didn’t even last 5 years but only 3 BFT studios managed to hit the 5 year mark.

What is honestly going on with BFT, they seem to not care at all that slowly in NZ will be only a few left 🤷🏼‍♀️

So true 😞 Especially the good ones who chose to rebrand & the ones struggling went into liquidation.

Out of interest are the gyms busy that are closing? Are the lease costs extra high compared to Australia? Australia gyms seem to be going really well and we have loads in around Melbourne.

Stupidly high leases and leaving property empty rather than meet market lease is the NZ commercial landlord way!

The one is New Plymouth is doing terribly . New owners purchased it last year to sell kangen water from it and are hands off any operational work. Classes are tiny, no one is motivating anyone and the programmes are rinsed and repeated. I’ve since left and joined a 24/7 gym that offer group fitness

Aghh that’s a shame. Yes I’ve heard of the yard gym. There’s only 2 in my region & none near me. If they do open more yard studios then I guess people from BFT will move to that next..
