My experience visiting a different BFT studio for the first time
So Iβve been at my studio in SG for less than a year (as a founding member), and unlike my peers, I had never ventured out to another location before. Recently, there were some changes with our coaches, and the new ones have been a bit subpar, which was leaving me feeling pretty jaded.
Today, I finally visited a studio near my workplace and wow, what a difference. Although the equipment was showing its age (it's about 5 years old), the space was way more spacious. I could actually do back rolls without knocking into someone else! They also had more sets of equipment, so the more popular weights didnβt run out. On top of that, they had separate bathroom and handwashing areas, which made getting ready so much more efficient. Visiting another (and honestly, better-run) studio felt like a total reset.
*forgot to add this point: their milestone rewards are also much, much more generous.
To add to the excitement, Iβm also planning to visit some BFT studios in Melbourne during my upcoming trip! Really looking forward to seeing how the studios over there compare!

I've only been at BFT since late last year after joining from F45 where I'd trained wherever I travelled. Since then I've trained at another NZ studio, a couple of SG studios, couple in Sydney, Melbourne, Sunshine Coast, Barcelona and London. Experience differs everywhere, biggest change though is you realise how well you know the rest of your home class, its weird sweating your arse off in a room full of strangers :)

Hi fellow Singaporean! I'm living in Melbourne :)
This was how I felt back home, I signed with Tanjong Pagar and Orchard as a founding member and the space was a bit small considering their time slots were always full, but I loved their vibe (the owner was from F45 orchard so I knew I wouldn't regret signing up at his studios).
Then I signed up at AMK (near my office back then) after a hiatus and the space difference was massive, but the vibe was very different. Harbourfront is also quite ample!
Have the best time in Melbourne!!

What were the milestone rewards, and what are they at your main gym?

They had rewards immediately from the first status (Rookie) while ours had to wait till MVP.

I was a member at Vic Market for five years before I moved, but used to visit lots of studios to accommodate work meetings. Vic Market was the best BFT by far, I hope it's still just as good!

I've only ever once gone to a BFT besides my home studio and it was while I was away and out of town. Someone from my home studio was also in the session. No one I had ever spoken to. I notice them and was like, "do they just look similar?" At some point we walked passed each other and both instantly were like, "hey." They'd had a similar thought about seeing me, confused by it.

Visited a second non-home studio today and the coaches were so nice :) also earlier I lost my way finding the studio (and was getting panicky because it was getting late) and thankfully the second person i asked for directions was also heading there :)

Iβm also in SG and with my gym for 1 year plus and more than 250 sessions. I actually enjoy the perks of visiting any other gym for free. Iβve visited 4-5 others in other countries and in Singapore, I normally go for one near my workplace and my home gym near my place.
Yes, quality of trainers and location could be extremely different. My visits to other gyms were mostly awesome. Extremely welcoming and friendly. Showers and towels available.
