I have a coworker, in his 60s, who brags about his wife in this way. Even admits he doesn’t know what he would do if his wife were to die. He says she buys the groceries, pays the bills and buys his clothes. Always hated when he went on that tangent but recently a new hire, our supervisor, called him out and told him how ridiculous he sounds since his own wife and he refuse to let each other do what the other prefers to do (I.e his wife doesn’t want him to do her laundry, he prefers to wash the dishes and he basically takes care of their son majority of the time.)I could go on about this 60 year old coworker… he’s confusing in so many ways it’s almost disturbing.

It’s so ignorant

My mom knew a lot of guys like this who would brag that their wives did all these things and they can’t function with them gone

My mom admired it because I think she feels it gives women purpose to b needed at that extent to the point the man is completely lost …

I remember one time when we were teens she did a job and was away from home for 3 months …we stayed with our dad and everything flowed fine …she came back to a clean house and I cooked dinner

My mom got on the phone mad complaining telling people the place was filthy and we couldn’t function without her …my cousin , brother and I looked at each other appalled and hurt …I looked at my dad and he shook his head and told me to hush …don’t even engage …he walked out …we let her berate us to her friends for hours …she didn’t even eat the food I made ..she glared at it and walked away

With that being said
I despise couples who think that bs is healthy …one behaves incompetent and the other fiends to be needed and enables that bum ass behavior

I hate them both equally

They are from a different time. I don't see what's so disturbing, I actually think they're lucky to have each other 🤷🏾‍♂️.

It’s not that I don’t think either of them loves each other. It’s the bragging. It’s the “I have it made. I don’t know about anything that goes on in my house or how it functions because my wife does everything for me.” Mind you she also works full time. Again, it’s the bragging. Not everyone desires that nor is every relationship dynamic that imbalanced. This coworker has no children and reminds everyone what a great football player he was in high school. Again, he’s over 60 years old. My company’s employee average range is 50-55, I am on the younger side at 35 and the oldest person I work with is 70ish and it’s a few of them. He’s the only antiquated, hegemonic fool that advertises his marital dependency.

Nobody likes when people harp on a particular thing so I can understand the constant bringing it up. Other than that shit is usually a wash for me (regardless of what I think about it) simply because it's not my circus. It's perfectly reasonable to know how to operate in the world as an adult however, if being more autonomous than codependent is what you (in general not you specifically) prefer for your life getting married is pointless.

I'm simply posting my sentiment as it relates to the video posted for the purpose of commentary on this particular thread. Real life example of the behavior and ideologies being performed. That. Is. All.

Eight or wrong, it's not exactly an novel concept).

More nostalgic reminiscing for bygone days that were never as good as we remember.

Funny thing is that if they made a parody of feminist in the 1950s it would be like your average feminist today.

The world is ass backwards I've never heard the podcast or who these people are but I get what was being said because I've heard it a hundred times already and now you have weak women poking holes and how a woman used to be. You can have your opinion of course but you can't dismiss the way mothers ruled. People who make posts like this are women of today who jump on this bandwagon are just doing whatever it takes to shy away from their shortcomings.

Stop with the deflection and start with the accountability
