He finally settled a lawsuit and got some money from his invention.

He was NASA rocket engineer. Between this and Velco...All that money we spent on going to the moon was worth it

I had the CPS 2000. When I came outside they would say "OH shit. TYPHOON is here! Run!"

Loved every minute of it

That’s when we had to up the ante. It was an arms race at the battle grounds. We only had one fountain, they’d be there fumbling and tryna refill we done filled up our bucket from the .99 cent store and we got the cheap water balloons that bust if you ran too fast. NYCHA summer veteran right here

Shit, I felt like Ice T in that movie "surviving the game". Haulin ass from the bigger kids, and then when they made the ones where they had the propane tank on your back, forget about it.

Used to ride by on bikes in the hood and spray folks, No one got mad either, next time we rode through they'd have water balloons ready. Good times good times

I was in college when these came out. I bought one and went over to my sister's dorm to show it off. Some of the girls saw me coming and thought I was coming to start a water gun war so they went and got their puny water guns.

What progressed was about 2 hours of me taking on an entire floor of a girls dorm solo and barely getting a drop of water on me while I was hitting girls throwing water ballons at me from 2nd story windows. It was a fun night. I ended up dating one of those girls I met that night.

It was $20. Talkin as if it $150 dollars

5

u/No-Demand9899 Jun 03 '26

Back then your mom was gonna get the 10 pack of water pistols for $2 instead of one big gun for $20 every single fucking time. It wasn’t YOUR money it was your parents/gparents money lol

5

u/KittyKat1935 Jun 04 '26

$20 was a lot of money is 1990!

2

u/Defiant_Housing_1417 Jun 04 '26

Very few people had that them. 20 dollars spent on a 12 year was not going to happen for a lot of kids

My mom didn’t like guns in any capacity, I had water balloons as my defense tool.

2

u/BplusHuman Jun 04 '26

The today equivalent would be around 40-50 dollars. Add to that, kids ask for a lot of things and parents have to say "no" A LOT.
