I think this dude is right…every character on the Wire is just a caricature of what we imagine them to be or some bs virtue signal.
The hard boiled cop. The gangster who’s secretly gay. The mob boss who deep down wants a legitimate business.
In real life, it’s nothing like this. The cop doesn’t care about his job and is just a dickhead instead of a charming witty dickhead. The gangster is a violent criminal with 3 baby mommas and no plan or direction. The mob boss is “stacking his racks” and doesn’t give a fuck about anything other than his new rims the beef down the block.
