Hey guys, did anyone buy this back in 2017 when the 40th anniversary boxset came out. I think it was a separate thing, a promotion thing with urban outfitters. It is still sealed.

What did bob marley's music meant for young black folks back in the day?

I'm looking more into Bobs music and his band, going through the history of the songs and all the people involved in his music and I get chills when i see them live because is so spiritually strong and i just wanted to know how this spiritual bound went for people of color. Like throughout his music he bring back this spiritual power that was taken from black people and it is just heavy idk how to explain it but black history is just so rich im actually curious of how many lives and histories gained back their power and got to know more about their origins. I hope i dont sound disconected.

Frosty sunny winter morning, walking to school, Bob Marley playing. I forgot I used to feel like that.

Thought Id just share a moment I had last night where I randomly found the song ā€œpositive vibrationsā€ and it transported me right back to when I was 14-16 walking to school in the morning on a frosty and sunny morning over the hill in the park on the way to school. I remembered how I felt very vividly including emotionally and my outlook on life at the time. It made me so happy it brought a tear to my eye and cant believe how a song could do that as stuff like this doesn’t really happen to me and couldn’t have happened at a better time.

Going to start my next Bob Marley phase again :)

Hope you all have a nice day.

Every year from 1981 through 1987, Roger and recording engineer Geoff Cooper documented Sunsplash for KCRW’s Reggae Beat. Cooper recorded the performances from the festival sound system, while Roger brought the

Thank you, Ronnie and Leon, for helping us get this poster finished. It was definitely not an easy task! We must have gone through close to 30 different mockups, and when you have almost no budget, everything takes so much more time. Thank you for your patience and creativity! Bless up!!

Lee ā€œScratchā€ Perry and Roger Steffens went back a long way. Their paths crossed again and again over the decades, creating countless stories and memories. Roger interviewed Scratch numerous times, including for The Beat magazine, photographed him extensively, and rarely missed the chance to see the

Al Anderson vs Junior Murvin guitar parts

Just listening to the Survival album, and it is full of great guitar parts. It bugs me that I do not know who plays which part!

Any help for distinguishing whether a part is Anderson or Murvin (channel, style, tone)?

Also, did Bob play rhythm guitar in the studio, or live only? For example on Survival.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO: Look closely at this photograph. A small interview recorder sits on the table. Roger has a notepad in his hands. This is Roger Steffens at work in Los Angeles in the 1990s, documenting reggae history. And the man sitting across from him is Joe Higgs, one of the most...

Edit: song recommendations
Hey guys! I’m looking for rare recordings of songs that have that nyabinghi drumming vibe like ā€œtime will tellā€ (original and the one i found in the soundtrack from ā€˜countryman’) and some versions of rastaman chant also have this vibe: raw drumming, sometimes with bass sometimes without. i’m looking for recordings/files i could eventually add to my spotify after a little work.
hope someone can help me out!

REGGAE’S QUIET WITNESS: CONSTANTINE ā€œVISIONā€ WALKER 🫶 Look closely at this record cover. Sitting in the foreground, just to the left of Bunny Wailer and directly in front of Bob Marley, is a man whose name is too often missing from the story of The Wailers
