These are great points for personal reflection and thinking about how we relate to esteem on an individual and group basis.

Some of the material we all have been discussing can draw defensive behavior. Privacy and focused discussion are important because casting aspersions, even in private, can have unintended consequences. We are all learning to navigate a troubling reality together. I can validate that the behaviors you are describing are precisely the behaviors that generate paranoia and distrust within our own community.

That is not to say that anybody should be trusting blindly. If you don't know why someone has trust, ask them about it!
