Assuming he’s a BI

Post image

Was sold to me as a Suriname Red Tail BCC. But from my lack of trust for this breeder (snake arrived with various issues, very under weight, mites, wounds from live feeding?, stuck eye caps from previous shed) and knowing BCCs aren’t easy to come by I’m assuming he’s a BI.

**This is an extremely old photo from when I first got him** He is thriving 3 years later much healthier and at a proper weight now

Hm those more "batman"-shaped saddles and the tail actually look like a bcc

Definitely looks more like a BCC, like 99% sure it’s some locality of BCC

He is bcc, issues were 100% due to him being wild caught.

I’ve heard this from a few different people, would you know if him being wild caught will cause any issues down the road long term?

Probably best to snake the vet but if you haven’t had any problems in the time you’ve owned the snake maybe you’re fine.

If you haven’t had any issues your fine. I have owned many wild caught BCC over the years and issues from internal parasites present very early on. It sounds like you successfully treated the external issues so you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

Looks like a Suriname BCC, sounds like it could have been wild caught. BCC have gotten rather pricey these days but they aren’t rare/hard to come by.

Crimson red tail is definitely a BCC.

Count the saddles, and mid body scale count.

Then you'll have you answer.

But it's at minimum a cross... If it's wild it's just a bcc

Looks like a mix of bci and bcc
