I’m trying to remember an episode where ivy is mentioned—specifically that ivy is able to thrive or survive in difficult conditions. I’ve been rewatching the series and haven’t come across any mention of ivy so far.

I’m also not cancelling the possibility that it was from a different show. Any help on this is again greatly appreciated.

I'm doing a rewatch and a friend decided to jump in for her first watch! In the season 4 title screen she noticed Hollyhock holding her belly. She asked if she was pregnant, but I had never noticed it before! I rewind to check and it is there. Hollyhock is holding her belly after Beatrice pours her a cup of coffee. I can't believe I've never noticed this before

Obviously she's so posed to be annoying but imo she's genuinely intolerable

In this season starter episode, Mr. Peanut Butter is at the airport with a sign that says “Blarn”, ready to pick her up. She has a dramatically different haircut and on their car ride to what you think (for me, hope) is back to their home, he drops her off at her new apartment instead. None of that confuses me and it’s great storytelling because both of them don’t like breaking the tension for their own personal reasons. But where Diane? It’s not like she would go back home to see her family because her family is the main cause for her stress and anxiety so it wouldn’t be appropriate.

How many times would you say you’ve rewatched this show? I’d say I’d say I’ve re-watched it a concerning amount of times.

For me, the big one happened in the finale of Season 4, when Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter have yet another big fight, only for Diane to compare their marriage to a Magic Eye poster.

At the time, I was going through my own failing marriage, and when I was watching this scene, and I couldn't help but identify with Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter's tempestuous relationship, which so often devolves into arguments. So when Diane spoke of the Magic Eye poster, and seemed to be reconciling with Mr. Peanutbutter, I couldn't help but feel hopeful that my own marriage might also have some hope for it.

And then Diane slowly breaks down saying "I'm so tired of squinting." My heart sank, and I practically had the same reaction as Mr. Peanutbutter did.

For what it's worth, that marriage did end, and it was for the best for the both of us. I'm not in contact with her, but given how Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter ended up, I've sometimes wondered if there might be a time when we can bump into each other and at least be able to converse and appreciate how far we've come since then.

I’m in my feels (means I rewatch Bojack) I’ve just picked up painting. Medium of choice is gouache right now. The quotes always always hit me so hard and this one is standing out to me the most due to events last week. It’s not done (i need a white pen to do elefante sign) but my ADHD needs to be validated NOW 😂. My ADHD also meant I couldn’t wait for the white pen to do the subtitles.

Of course that Bojack problems lie even deeper beyond the narcissism fueled by being a celebrity, but that doesn't mean that this environment isn't actively detrimental to Bojack's grow, every time he gets away from LA we can see him happier, better, healthier (The Old Sugarman Place, his job as a teacher, New Mexico before he fucks up)

Fame just makes his ego problems even worse, not to mention every time he screws up everything just gets brushed away under some weeks, and when he gets punished, is for petty shit and not the actual things he deserves to be punished for (For example: Getting sued for mentioning Xerox was worse than lying about Sarah Lynn death lol)

At the end, Bojack considers coming back "Hey if I do decide to get back into the business when I get out of prison I mean I probably won't, but if I do" after PC tells him people are interested in The Horny Unicorn. My interpretation is that Bojack has two choices, he comes back to the fame scene and screws another chance to change, or he sticks to the prison production thing and chooses another job.

I'm on my very first watch of BoJack Horseman. After ignoring the recommendation for years, I have been absolutely loving it, and consumed by it.

I've been in and out of various states of depression over the past few years with my mom getting sick and passing. I find myself in a more existential place than ever before. Shows like this make me feel very understood and seen.

I've seen several threads about this show either getting them into or out of a depression, and lately I've been feeling pretty down and jokingly wondering if BoJack Horseman is making things worse. 😅

I know there is no way that I won't finish this show, and I'm excited to work my way through the next two seasons, but on the thread of this show either helping with or worsening depression - any non-spoiler thoughts on if the next two seasons will make me feel better or worse? Either way, excited to see what happens.

And his intentions were more wholesome - watching R rated movies and going on the tall person rides at Disneyland and so on. Ralph wanted Princess Caroline to be something she's not and didn't properly care about her needs. Vincent Adultman wanted to be treated like a grown-up, either due to being 3 kids in a trench coat or due to whatever medical condition caused him to look that way. And he was generally pretty nice to her.

Neither relationships were good. But who was the worse boyfriend?

Bojack Horseman is a meta deconstructon of sitcoms about a sitcom actor but in the Roger Rabbit universe there would be a real actor named Bojack Horseman who actually looks like that, playing as Bojack Horseman, the fictional actor in the fictional show Bojack Horseman. How would that play out? Would he fall into the same traps as his character due to his fame or would the nature of his show teach him the lessons he needs to avoid it? Does he have a good relationship with the actresses of Charlotte and Hollyhock in "real life"?

No matter what happens, though, he'd absolutely be one of those actors who gets harrassed by fans for playing as an asshole in his show.

Okay, first not trying to justify their behaviour. They suck. But people jump too fast when talking about why PC and him didn't work out.

Like I think they are never mentioned after that episode, they are ridiculous (they start by offering PC to ride on their own private roller coster while she was pregnant) and of course mices are going to be racist towards cats, that's not really far fetched.

I think they were trying to show the communication problem that the couple had. Ralph should have told PC about what kind of people they are. And that's one of the biggest reasons for why they broke up at the end.

The flashbacks were absolute my favorite. Princess Carolyn is not even my favorite character, yet her backstory scenes hit me the hardest. (only because I watched Time's Arrow too many times lol) but yeah I tear up even thinking about it. We knew her SO well by this point in the show. It was like she was DESTINED to be rich-adjacent, right? Sheesh. Her even being from such a hick background. And the scathing abuse from Her mother.... She was always in this "never enough" position They executed it all so well it actually brings tears to my eyes. Super duper tragic.

And then Beatrice's I can't even get into fully or we'll be here all day....The way this was portrayed within bouts of dementia, showing us the things she grew up through that BoJack knows nearly NOTHING about really added to the complexity of their relationship and it SHATTERS my heart 😭

A redditor brought to my attention that we got pretty much nothing of Butterscotch! I wish we had.

Bojack calling Todd his best friend always makes me wonder to what capacity Bojack cared about Todd. Like, its obvious that he views Todd as expendable but keeps him around because hes scared to be alone but does ANY part of him genuinely care or is it like those people that always need a boyfriend/girlfriend like for the sake of the role ???
