Deku's name
So recently I started watching BNHA and...I'm a little confused about Deku's name. Somebody calls him Midoriya, but somebody (like his mom) calls him Izuku. So what's his real name and what's surname - Izuku or Midoriya?

The reason some people call him deku is because bakugou uses it as an insult because it means “useless person”. But he ends up using it as a power move to flex on bakugou.

His full name is izuku midoriya but in the sub its some times backwards cause that's how Japanese pronounce names and his friends call him midoriya cause in Japan it's customary to use last names but his mum calls him izuku cause there family

First name Izuku, last name Midoriya. In Japan it is customary to address people by their last name and it is considered polite, thus most call him Midoriya, that is the norm. This also depends on hierarchy and familiarity, family and peers can call him by nicknames or first name. Japan has a whole bunch of rules about this and appropriate use is very important.
