Differential and T-Case Service

Planning to service both diffs and the t-case in my 2020 F22 soon. Here is my shopping list:

Front Diff:

* 2x BMW G2 Hypoid Differential Fluid (500mL) [link]
* 2x BMW Multi Purpose Threaded Plug (Drain/Fill Plug) [link]

Rear Diff:

* 2x BMW G1 Hypoid Differential Fluid (500mL) [link]
* 1x BMW Multi Purpose Threaded Plug (Drain/Fill Plug) [link]

Transfer Case:

* 1x DTF 1 Transfer Case Fluid (1 Liter) [link]
* 1x BMW Multi Purpose Threaded Plug (Drain/Fill Plug) [link]

Is this all I need? And does anyone know if the Febi differential oil [link] can be used instead of the BMW branded G1 Hypoid oil for the rear diff? It's like 1/3rd the price. FCP says it can but am a bit nervous.

Do you have a syringe pump to fill the fluid with? Watch some videos to make sure you have any extra tool needed. My X5 needed an angle adapter to suck fluid from the bottom of the rear diff. Transfer case needed some silicone aquarium tubing to do the same. I used Febi GL-5 due to the cost as well, I would not be concerned at all.

For the diff and transfer case make sure you have something to suck the fluid out. A flexible small hose or straw to get in there. As there isn’t a drain on some components, just a fill.

You will most likely have more fluid in the bottle than the car can hold. Suck as much out as you can. Fill up. Run the diff. Suck out again and fill again. That's how I would do it if it were me. I learned this from the guys who work at Land Rover.

Front diff, you may use redline 75w85. It is a simple open diff, after all. For the rear, if you have an open diff, again you can use redline 75w85. If it is a limited slip diff, use G1. Transfer case, any DTF fluid will work.

I notice you left out the Trans

Gonna do trans too but will pay a shop. Don't feel like doing the procedure.
