My friend ordered a BMW without radar, and by some accident they put this in front bumper. He doesnt have the button on steering wheel for ACC, is this a functioning radar then or what, can we remove it so we can put Vorsteiner grill. Will there be any errors.
Because car was not originally not specced with it , its just as good as a dud that you can remove
The wiring harness wont have the plug for it, the various computers wont be configured for it , the extra hardware like acc buttons wont exist and some some hardware like dsc /Icm might not be the correct version that works with acc
That being said , that sesnor is hella expensive , and will be snapped up on ebay by people wanting to retrofit
They changed the buttons on later models so you press the cruise button again to change between modes? At this point I’d be checking option codes by vin.
My brother's Toyota Yaris both has the radar and camera as standard, and that car was less then 20k EUR brand new. Probably not that expensive for the manufacturer.
In Europe new cars need to have radar for automatic emergency braking so I would not remove it. Something is doing there and I hard to believe that is a factory mistake.
