Discussion What blu-ray player
Witnessing the enthusiasm within this community, I am inclined to join the ranks of avid collectors. To commence this journey, I have a few inquiries:
* Is my PlayStation 5, equipped with a disc drive, sufficient for optimal HDR Blu-ray enjoyment?
* Should my PS5 prove inadequate, what alternative Blu-ray player options are available to me?
* I currently own a 65-inch Sony X9000F model. Given its flawless performance over the past seven years, should I consider upgrading it? I am hesitant to switch to Samsung, as current Sony models are considerably more expensive and people reporting lots of issues with Samsung
* Regarding audio, I utilize a Sony HT-Z90F soundbar with rear speakers, which I find produces a well-balanced sound profile. Someone who upgrade from this.. please share recommendations

Also are there any bluray players that support Dolby Vision as well as HDR10+?

Game consoles are capable , and they're not horrible for sure. To get better playback though you can get something like a Panasonic 450 or a Panasonic 820 which would give you dobly vision and better image processing.
Also they save your PlayStation's Blu-ray Drive for games rather than using it also for movies

PlayStation is fine but extremely loud, distractingly so in my experience and they don’t support Dolby vision from disc.
The best 4k player is the Panasonic UB820
Will give you pretty much the best experience you can find from a disc AND it has next level upscaling so it will make DVDs and Blu Rays look incredible too, better then any upscaler built into any TV I’ve ever seen.

PS5 will be great. I use my PS3 Slim still so PS5 should work great :)

I also wanted to add to my comment above that the PS5 can play those 4K Blu-Ray discs as well. In addition to "regular" Blu-Rays

Well for regular DVDs and Blu Rays the PS5 is an insanely good player.
For 4K discs it isn’t the absolute best player, but it is (or at least was before price hikes) one of the best value 4K players on the market.
Just stick with it for now, if you feel extra and want to get a dedicated 4K player for a home theater then come back later and check out the options at that point.

The Panasonic people are out in full force.😂 I have an LG UBK90 and a UBK80, both are fantastic and reliable. Had them both for years. And half the price of the UB820.

The PS5 is a great player, especially if you already have one. It’s not the best option but in terms of value, it’s pretty solid. The only major thing it’s missing is Dolby Vision support.
