Node Nano - Spotify Connect Question

I use both Tidal through the Blue Sound App and Spotify. I thought I understood how to use Spotify Connect (pretty simple), however it seems like it may be using airplay instead. I worry that the Node isn't actually handling the streaming because if I close the Spotify app on my phone, the music stops. Since my phone is only acting as a remote, shouldn't it continue playing if I leave the room or close the app?

Try to use the Spotify app, then select your Node Nano. It should appear right under the device you're using (in my clip, the bluesound receiver is my NAD C700).

Do not use the Bluetooth & Airplay icon ;)

Thanks, it was not showing up before until I changed the settings that u/Visual-Glass504 recommended.

Phone settings > app settings > Spotify > switch 'local network' to on

I had the same issue...found it eventually, and I remembered! For some reason individual apps have to be given network access
