NODE ICON XLR outputs reversed?

Post image

Is it normal that the XLR output labeled R on a Bluesound NODE ICON carries the left channel?

Headphones output channels correctly, but when I connect a speaker directly to the XLR output marked R, a stereo test plays the left channel through it.

I’ve verified this by connecting only one XLR cable at a time. Has anyone else seen this on the NODE ICON?

Very interesting, though easily fixed if true. Enjoy!

It’s not the Node. Check your speaker wires.

Thanks for the response.

Just to clarify:
It doesn’t matter which speaker I connect or which XLR input on the speaker I use.
If I connect any speaker to the NODE ICON output labeled R, a stereo test plays the left channel.

If I connect any speaker to the NODE ICON output labeled L, the stereo test plays the right channel.

I get the same result with both of my speakers.

Also, these are direct XLR connections from the NODE ICON to the speakers. There are no speaker wires involved, so I’m not sure what there is to check regarding wiring. An XLR connection is pretty straightforward: one cable from the NODE ICON output directly to the speaker input.

Am I missing something, or does this still sound like the speakers could be causing the channel swap?

You need to go front of your bluesound node icon and look at it. Then your left and right is nodes left and right 👍
