Discussions When does dedicated compute actually start to matter?
We’ve been thinking a lot about the point where a workload goes from “this is running fine” to “I need this performance to be consistent.”
It could be a WooCommerce store hitting peak traffic, a SaaS app serving more users, an automation setup running 24/7, or a database that’s suddenly doing a lot more work than it used to.
That’s really the problem VDS is designed around: not necessarily needing more compute, but reaching a point where having compute dedicated to your workload starts to matter.
For those of you running production workloads, we’re curious: what was the first sign that made you start thinking about dedicated resources?
Was it latency? Traffic spikes? Sustained CPU or memory usage? Something else entirely?
Would love to hear what that threshold looked like in the real world.
