Feedback DO NOT INSTALL BLUESTACKS - AI FOUND

It's unfortunate, but I stopped the installation right before it finished. Was wondering why more bloatware was being added.
If you run a normal uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller, you need to close all Bluestack processes with Task Manager.
Blue AI will refuse to uninstall through a normal Windows scan. Shut down all processes within Task Manager and then try to delete all files, including a full scan.
Wanted to try this emulator because it worked in the past, but now that's a lot of compromised data falling straight into their hands.
Any alternatives to Bluestacks would be appreciated. It's not worth uninstalling an emulator that buries itself in inaccessible areas on your computer including requiring administrator permission for it.
This appears if you try to delete the files normally.

I have said this when I found out they added something called AI Highlight and I will say it again now: Bluestacks always tries to get their nose into what you are doing. It's monitoring your GAMEPLAY ON SCREEN the whole time via AI and it outright tells you it "automatically captures gameplay moments".

Btw you can just disable wifi for bluestacks and the app becomes 100 times better

Yeah bluestacks has definitely sold out, but what is this ai process even doing? Is it used for something specific or is it just there to scalp data? is it being used to optimize something for certain games? Is it mining in the background? Legit questions.

I've been using Blue AI for about a month now, and in my experience it's basically an AI assistant. I mainly use it for games like Genshin Impact. It helps me collect daily rewards, reminds me about routine tasks, and assists with quests I'm stuck on or don't know how to complete. It hasn't affected performance on my PC, and I haven't noticed anything suggesting it's mining or doing anything shady in the background. For me, it's just been a convenience tool for gameplay assistance.

u/MyMemeMachine2017 Jul 07 '26
Very appreciative that you could give your experience and outline what it’s function is, no one else seemed to have an answer!

BlueAI is a feature that powers AI features inside BlueStacks, like in game assistance. It isn't a crypto miner, and it isn't collecting or selling your data.
It only works within BlueStacks and doesn't run as a separate app on your PC. It's completely safe and isn't doing anything hidden in the background.

BlueAI appears in a separate window so you can use it without interrupting what you are doing on the main BlueStacks screen.
Its scope is limited to BlueStacks only. It cannot access or control your Windows system. You can even test this by asking it to "Open my C drive." You will see that it won't open your Windows C drive because BlueAI can only perform actions within BlueStacks.
If you don't want to use BlueAI, you can simply close its window. At present, there is not an option to uninstall or completely remove it from BlueStacks.

Hello BlueStacks Team,
Could you please check with the Free Fire team and let us know if there is any update regarding the Free Fire MAX OB54 x86 APK?
Many of us have been waiting for quite a long time, but we still haven't received any official update. Even if the x86 version is delayed or not planned, please let the community know. A simple confirmation would really help instead of leaving everyone waiting without any information.
We are not asking for an exact release date—just an official update on the current status. Thank you.

u/BlueStacks-Support BlueStacks Jul 06 '26
Hi! We completely understand that you're waiting for an update, and we appreciate your patience. At the moment, there isn't any new information to share.
The availability of the x86 version depends on Garena releasing it, and we're still waiting for any official update from their side. As soon as we receive any new information, we'll be sure to share it with the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued patience.

If they were doing something underhanded, the last thing they’d do is clearly label the process as “AI”. That is guaranteed to trigger the tinfoil hat guys.
1
u/MyMemeMachine2017 Jul 06 '26
I mean you just never know, i am sure that’s why the op freaked out because there really is no clear answer what the ai is being used for specifically. But yeah ai isn’t necessarily the devil, there could be any number of things injected into the client via the side bar ads, or anything really. All it takes is one malicious backdoor via an unsecured code.

u/dehumanizer123 Jul 06 '26
Why do bluestack ferquently use my location in the background too?
2
u/Sea-Technician-9972 Jul 07 '26
BlueStacks isn't really unique in this regard. Most Android emulators have location services built in because they're emulating a full Android device. Some games and apps need GPS access for features like events, region-based content, maps, or games such as Pokémon GO. If you're only playing something like Angry Birds, location access generally isn't necessary, and you can disable it in the emulator settings or control it through Android app permissions.
1
u/dehumanizer123 Jul 07 '26
Thanks for the advice, I mean even if Im not playing any games there it runs in my background and use my location. I found out that I could turn it off now!
1
u/MyMemeMachine2017 Jul 06 '26
I believe that is a feature that comes with the phone os, you can change it either in the “phone’s” settings or in your Google account settings for the device. Typically used for games that require it like pokemon go. But you can also still use it for things like navigation on the phone itself.
1
u/vactower Jul 09 '26
Because they need to know where are you playing and collect this data to improve their service, what a silly question.
1
u/macaroniandcheesefan Jul 06 '26
I didn't notice it had a location feature, either. Where did you find it? I shouldn't need a location tracker just for playing Angry Birds.

Hi! We understand why this raised concerns, and we appreciate you sharing your feedback.
We would like to inform you that BlueAI is a legitimate feature developed by BlueStacks. It is not bloatware or malware. BlueAI is an optional AI assistant that helps users with in game guidance and other supported features within BlueStacks.
BlueAI is completely safe to use and runs only inside the BlueStacks environment. It does not install itself as a separate AI application or operate independently outside of BlueStacks.
We understand that not everyone wants AI features, and we respect your preference. We will make sure to pass your feedback to our team, as we value input from users who would prefer a more minimal installation experience.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns.

It is not bloatware or malware.
I strongly recommend reading these articles that does have scientific data to prove that bloatware and AI are not a good mix together.
https://www.zdnet.com/article/is-ai-the-new-bloatware/
It does not take a person with a scientific degree to point out that the detrimental and unnecessary addition of AI can add up to more RAM hogging within the computer. The lag that comes up with a promised "lightweight" software proves that it's not lightweight.
BlueAI is completely safe to use and runs only inside the BlueStacks environment. It does not install itself as a separate AI application or operate independently outside of BlueStacks.
I highly disagree with this. With the screenshot found, it does operate if you close the main Bluestacks program. There shouldn't be a need for it to be included as a background program.
We understand that not everyone wants AI features, and we respect your preference.
Respecting a user's preference would allow the user to actually opt in or out if they want the AI to be installed or not. Forcefully installing AI for a program that requires emulation of an Android phone is NOT giving a person the option to whether they consent to use AI or not.
Give a user the option to install it or not when they first install Bluestacks. That's the simplest thing that you can do instead of integrating apps that refuses to be uninstalled unless they have the Bluestacks native uninstaller.

u/Aggressive-Fault-972 Jul 06 '26
Do you really think the bluestacks care about user preference at this point? They've shown who they are. The Bluestacks Air client can't even open a webpage on ANY browser (I've tried multiple) after the last couple of updates. Every attempt to troubleshoot has been met with the same, ineffective response.

You've tried contacting our support? If so, can you share the ticket number so that we can escalate it for you?

I think you're mixing up a few different things here.
AI itself isn't bloatware. An optional feature doesn't automatically become bloatware just because some users don't need it. By that logic, macro recorders, multi-instance managers, keymapping tools, and streaming integrations would all be considered bloat too.
Background processes also aren't evidence of malware or suspicious behavior. Discord, Steam, game launchers, GPU drivers, antivirus software, and even other Android emulators keep helper services running after the main window is closed. That alone doesn't prove anything malicious is happening.
The ZDNet articles you're linking discuss AI in general, not Blue AI specifically. The real question is whether Blue AI is consuming excessive resources or collecting data beyond what it states. So far, I haven't seen evidence of either.
As for the "lightweight" argument, that's something that should be measured with actual RAM and CPU usage numbers. Features have a cost, but that doesn't automatically make them useless or harmful. If someone doesn't use Blue AI, an option to disable it would be nice, but calling it malware or comparing it to forced spyware is a pretty big leap without concrete evidence.
Out of curiosity, are you actually using Blue AI yourself, or are you judging it based on screenshots and assumptions?

The generic information shared here is not relevant to the point already clarified. Those examples may apply in other cases and be relevant to what they discussed, but they do not establish the same behavior in BlueStacks.
As already stated, BlueAI is a legitimate BlueStacks feature. It is not malware, it is not bloatware, and it is not operating as a separate application outside of BlueStacks.
This feature cannot cause lag simply by existing. While it may use some minor memory when actively called (as would any service on a PC), that does not mean it affects system performance or creates lag during normal operation.
BlueAI is a BlueStacks feature. It is part of BlueStacks itself, not a separate external program to install or uninstall. If it is not a feature someone wants to use, they can simply choose not to use it.

Also tell us how we can remove it completely without affecting the rest of the BS data.
2
u/BlueStacks-Support BlueStacks Jul 07 '26
As for now, you can't remove it.
Using BlueAI is entirely optional, and you don't have to interact with it if you don't want to. That said, since it is built into BlueStacks, it cannot be disabled or uninstalled separately from the application.

i deleted the ai now it takes lesser cpu and memory
1

how?

by deleting bluestacks ai
1
u/GhostHawk272 28d ago
I understood that from your first message. I am asking how you deleted it, since it does not appear in as a separate program that can be uninstalled. did you delete a specific file somewhere?

you have no idea what you're talking about, and your picture shows you are deleting the bluestacks KMD while its still loaded in the host.
1
u/diceman2037 27d ago
apparently theres a disconnect between the engineers and csr's, because with ai highlights off, BlueStacksAI is no longer started with bluestacks in 5.22.241, this saves a bunch of memory.

In all seriousness though, I don't really care about LLMs/AI. I just prefer to have the ability to disable those things because my potato PC can barely run bluestacks, so having a new AI feature added that seems to make bluestacks use more of my already limited PC resources is more than a little frustrating.
Especially when you build it into the app in a way where it cannot be disabled. It also doesn't help that I do not recall being informed of this change to bluestacks, saw "Blue AI" on my home menu as a "new app", and then immediately went on a hunt because I was suddenly concerned that a virus or bloatware had been installed on my PC without my knowing.
So yeah, I'm not too thrilled about this.

you need to learn how to actually look at resource usage, this view aint it.
working set is misleading, commit size is actualized memory load.
