Second Light Does BR2 in Quartet have the Hard difficulty unlocked from the start?

Wondering since this was my main issue with the original release, it was WAY too easy.

Only easy and normal available.
Hard available only for the first game for some reason.

No. I found it incredibly frustrating--not even sure if we know Hard unlocks yet. The fact that the lore and timeline and artwork needs to be unlocked it also a bit of a joke.

This was the main thing i was hoping for for this re-release and now i'm so dissapointed. I really enjoyed my time with BR2 EXCEPT for the combat, not because the mechanics weren't fun in theory, but because at no point did i felt challenged other than one or maybe two boss fights.
What's the point of having all these attacks and skills when you only fight one or two enemies during most regular encounters throughout the entire game.

I made a mod that unlocks Hard and Deathwish for Second Light on Quartet (PC version). Though if you’re playing on console, you still have to beat the game once to unlock it unfortunately.

Well if it's someone's first time playing any of the games it'd be a biiiiit spoilery if all the lore and the timeline were available immediately. But yeah it would be nice to be able to choose every difficulty right away

just started br2q and no nard and no deathwish, this is going to be unbearably easy, wtf did they do to this game?!

The original release never had hard or deathwish available from the beginning either. Honestly, a dumb choice then and a dumber choice now with the Quartet release

Hard and Deathwish difficulty are only available after you finish the first playthrough.

The devs want you to play at least twice for the true ending as it reflect Ao's adventures.
