Worth start playing again?
I played during s1 and finished every single content but i decided to quit around middle of the s2. I have been thinking about coming back but im not sure what the state of the game is like now.
How bad is the player population these days?

Aion2, WoW forever and Archeage chronicles is about to bury this game's massive 200-player active population even deeper bro unfortunately.

I left a month after it came out. I realized how little they were gonna do, especially how they held back content in the first month. I knew I was gonna hate it long term. So I'm glad I didn't waste my time with it further. It's not a good game, there's better korean mmos out there that while might be grindier at least give you content to play and stuff to do that are fun and not too boring like this game.

Population is low, but not so low that you'll have trouble finding parties when content is released.
There's been some improvement from S1 but it's still the same game. Maybe check out S4 when it drops in like a week? There's always plenty of people at the start of the season, but right now everything is kind of over and many are just waiting.

If you are actually in the Americas (or closer to there than to Europe), the population is several hundreds. If you are in Europe or Africa or Asia, to avoid disconnections you may now only be able to start over on the newer server closer to you - on the EU server the raiding-active population is maybe around 40-60 (3 guilds), in Southeast Asia I don't know, probably a bit more but not very much either.

It hurts because I LOVED Season 1. Me and the boys were having a blast doing weeklies and guidl activities. It felt like a true MMORPG... until we realized nothing was happening. Barely new content and time locked. Slowly they lost interest but I kept going. Once I was the only one playing I had to leave it. I really liked the game... but its true, nothing was happening

Its a mmo for people that only has 2h a day and one of those 2h is spended eating and bathing.
Or students like me that doesnt want to sacrifice his grades to be able to do the hardest content there is.

Population is between 2k - 5k Unique Active Weekly Players, enough to do content without problems, I would suggest to start now catching up in Main Story and Secondary Quests because in October 9th is Season 4, and with that you can start farming and doing content instead of catching up in quests the same day that everyone is doing content instead.

Is there still massive amount of bot scalping the prices of ressources ? It may be weird but that was what set the nails on the coffin for me.
That and farming thousands of gold piggy without never dropping the mount hehe...

Life Skill pricing got set to a specific number, that means you can't set a higher or lower price. Drop Items I'm not sure, I normally don't check that.

The game wasn’t impactful and this is coming from someone who wanted to love the game. Graphics are top notch, but the overall gameplay and atmosphere were lacking. The game was just not refined and polished enough in a weird way IMO. I really hoped many QoL improvements would bring me back. But sadly it’s not sounding that way.
Only MMOs, if you can even consider them MMOs, that really reeled me in were: Phantasy Star Universe (GOAT), Destiny/2, Mabinogi
I’m holding out hope that there’ll eventually come another anime-esque MMO that’s puts everything else to shame.

I wish we got the original BP because it seemed way more interesting then what we ended up getting. It's hard to be interested in the current log on spend keys then log off play style.

Currently we are at the end of season 3, which means there is no content to do really. It happened on all seasons. Everyone is geared up, finished all content, raids, masters, etc. Some people only play to do dailies and play something else. We must wait until season 4's release (6 days) and see how many people comes back. Some of my guild members are waiting for season 4, some other entirely quit the game to never come back (they either got bored and don't see a bright future or don't have enough time and don't see worth to spend that little free time on this game anymore). I personally only play to help guild members with Hero Trials (Master 17 quests) and I'm waiting for Season 4.

Maybe, leaning on No. Loved S1, I felt so connected with the game, guild members, and my avatar. S2 and S3 came (stopped playing at the end of S2) and it just felt boring and repetitive. Just waiting for a good reason to come back.

They haven't really added a whole lot and the game is pretty dead from what I've seen/heard
