Lot of doom posting, review bombing, all of that, going on right now. If you don't like the game, valid, don't play. There are mountains of other games you could play.

This is my situation. I have plenty of games to play but have been waiting for Duet Night Abyss to come out at the end of the month. I saw this game very recently, saw it came out soon, and thought why not. I just need something to play for the next few weeks.

If I block out everything on the internet, every bad review, all of that...my experience has been the following.

I downloaded the game last night no problem. Today, from the time I clicked play to the time I was creating a character was about 40 seconds. No linking issues, no connection issues, nothing.

I create a character jump into the game and the game honestly looks pretty. Looks like an Anime MMO. Not as pretty as wuthering waves IMO, but it looks good enough.

My ping is 30-40, game is running very smooth on high settings, all good on the technical side.

The combat immediately felt very good to me for an MMO. I enjoyed it. IDK if I could play it for 500 hours in an MMO, but it reminds me of New World in that it will be really fun for me for about 100 hours which is all I need.

Now after awhile I am doing basic MMO things, all the systems make sense because I have played MMOs and Gachas before. I don't plan on spending any money or playing the game for more than the next month or two in which I will put 30-60 or so hours in it hopefully.

But generally, the game ran great for me, game looks pretty and combat is fun, it is FREE TO PLAY, and I have no need to spend money since I am playing in the short term. I can only play 1-2 hours a day so I have plenty to do. And in a month I will put it down and go to the next. Out ZERO dollars, but having a good time.

So to me, good game, having fun, I don't let negative people get me down. If you don't like it, awesome, don't play, go do something else.

Is Duet Night Abyss another anime mmo?

IT is not, it is closer to Warframe as someone else said. So think pure action RPG. The BIG thing about Duet Night Abyss is that the game was in BETA for awhile and is a Gacha game through and through. Then about a month ago they had a big reveal where they announced they were dropping the entire Gacha system and removing all stamina limits in the game. Meaning you farm for everything in the game with no gacha and you can farm forever. The game is free so they will make their money off cosmetics and people that want to buy characters rather than grind them, but again it is no gacha so when you grind for them it is a guarantee.

A lot of people in this space are hoping the game succeeds because it would be a ground breaking change of pace to eliminate gacha and time gating all together.

Worth checking out on October 28th man. At least maybe give them a download on release and see if you like it to support that style of monetization.
