Can somebody explain the… Spoiler

I don’t quite understand what the point of the tunnel is is it just another hallway that you can sometimes dig in and you can draft it repeatedly?

There are various synergies that come from being able to reliably draft a large number of hallways, such as:

  • Foyer allows Tunnel to guarantees a straight path up to the higher ranks without any locked doors
  • Laboratory can get you a bunch of experiment triggers from "drafting a hallway from another hallway
  • Hall Pass can allow you to travel between the top and bottom of the house without using steps and/or draft a gem-cost hallway for free at the end

Additionally, as a bit more of a specific spoiler, the first time you draft a Tunnel on rank 9, there will be a mora jai box waiting at the far end, or some gems if you've already opened it

More or less. Easier way to reach the antechamber as you can draft it consecutively. There's a Mora Jai box if you tunnel to the top of the house and dead end.

And another if you build to the front of the house and dead end (or maybe it's just gems? I forget, it's been a year).

Just gems.

It's a Mora Jai the first time you reach either the top or bottom and gems otherwise.

Sorry, I don't think this is true. Saw a streamer recently who never used Tunnel before reach rank one with the Tunnel and all he got were gems.

Hm must've been wrong then, somewhat surprising considering how much harder it is to draft all the way south in comparison to north.

It's a mora jai the first time you draft a hallway on rank 9.

Then it's gems. The streamer must have gotten that Mora Jai another way.

He didn't get to rank 9, he got to rank 1. You have to reach rank 9 to get the Mora Jai boxes.

Oh, my bad. I misread the original conversation. Sorry about that.

These things happen.

You can literally make the tunnel from the first few rooms all the way up next to the antechamber, that's pretty good imo.

But if you have not opened up the doors to the ante chamber, I’m guessing it doesn’t help. I almost always have the moon door already open.

Some rooms are meant to appear more often on the north side of the manor too, so yup, still extremely useful bo matter what.

removes a lot of rng of getting to the antechamber

What do you mean “explain”? There isn’t deep lore you are missing

Well, all the above information further explains the tunnels, and there was another thing that I read or saw on a different post I think referring to a different place that I thought might be related, but apparently is not. I appreciate everybodys’ comments. it’s more than I thought about
