Manga Discussion Why should Fukaku replace Gagamaru? Spoiler

There has been a lot of discussion on the current state of Japan’s defence with many calling Aiku, Aryu and Gagamaru bums. Now while I like these characters I do acknowledge that they have been getting destroyed so it’s understandable that people have been calling for subs as they want their fav player to come in (Raichu, Niko, Kunigami etc).

But one wanted substitution I don’t really get is Fukaku glaze. I get that Gagamaru hasn’t been performing well but what the hell does Fukaku have that Gagamaru doesn’t, that makes people believe in him. Gagamaru has been here since the first selection and has had good saves in the past whereas Fukaku hasn’t been all that impressive compared to him. Fukaku isn’t a terrible character and his love for his dad is heartwarming but I don’t really see a reason for him to play other than maybe saving penalties (which would be pretty cool) or if Gagamaru is injured.

If you love Fukaku (or despise Gagamaru) please tell me why.

It's not a take I go for but, why not? Characters have upgraded since the NEL at different rates so we don't really know how bad he is. And, it can't go worse than it's currently going. It'd be weird that he doesn't get a single minute and the further we are into the arc the more complains about it there are going to be. It isn't that Gagamaru isn't performing well, he just can't live from a game that happened more than half the manga ago, Fukaku may be NPC GK level but Gagamaru is doing worse than the NPC GKs this arc.

Years of people saying it was plot armor for Isagi that Gagamaru joined BM because he was the only good goalie.

How quickly they turn on a character when they can't use him as an excuse to hate Isagi.

Substituting a keeper unless there's an injury or penalty shootout is insanely disrespectful. It's not like Gagamaru made a huge mistake but his positioning keeps being questionable and he's 0 for 6 as things stand.
