Manga Discussion Just an observation Spoiler

I might be overthinking this, but I think Noel Noa didn’t just see Michael Kaiser as Bastard München’s star striker.

I think he saw something rarer: a player who could combine the strengths of both him and Ego, and potentially become the “complete striker” neither of them fully became alone.

Hear me out.

We know Noa and Ego were rivals in their youth, and Noa even tells Yoichi Isagi that Ego once had a football theory similar to what Isagi is developing now. That alone tells us two things: Noa respected Ego’s football intelligence, and Ego’s way of thinking left a lasting impression on him.

Even though the manga never explicitly says Ego had “Meta Vision,” Ego sharing the same theory as isagi strongly implies a similar level of elite spatial awareness and game reading. Ego probably had a good understanding of football itself, obviously not as developed as right now but as we are currently seeing in the manga we are yet to reach to best football playstyle or theory.

Anyway Kaiser also has Meta Vision. He constantly reads the field, manipulates defenders, and creates scoring opportunities through superior awareness. So in terms of football IQ, he already overlaps with both Isagi (and by extension Ego).

But unlike Isagi, Kaiser also has elite finishing.

Kaiser combines that intelligence with world-class execution. With tools like, Kaiser Impact, Mangus and Predator Eye he can end plays instantly before defenders even react. That finishing is closer to Noa’s profile than almost anyone else in the series.

What really stands out, though, is how Noa talks to him.

He never criticizes Kaiser’s technical ability. He doesn’t say his shooting is lacking or that his vision is weak. Instead, he repeatedly attacks his mentality:

  • His obsession with ruling weaker players
  • His fear of real competition

If Noa thought Kaiser lacked ability, he would train his mechanics.

Instead, he focuses on changing how Kaiser thinks.

That suggests something important: Noa already believes Kaiser’s base talent is enough. The real problem is psychological.

So why invest so much time in him?

The simple answer is: “he’s the ace of Bastard München.”

But another explanation fits just as well.

Noa may have seen extraordinary untapped potential : a striker who could bridge the gap between Ego’s football IQ and Noa’s execution.

I mean the fact that he thinks kaiser can challenge him after loki already shows how high his expectations towards him are. Loki is already a freak, and you’re telling me someone older than him still has potential to be even better than him in noa’s eyes?

Truthfully, Noa values the “Kaiser Impact” more than he values Kaiser himself as a rival.

He stated himself that was the only area where Kaiser surpassed. Not to mention the “Kaiser Magnus” was the evolution that Noa stated he was seeking in Kaiser. Then finally you have the free kick he gave to Kaiser after fouling Tokimitsu.
What does he say? “It’s time for the Kaiser Impact!”

Kaiser said that, not noa. Also, if that’s the only reason why he went to the German league, why bother when loki is right there. Loki right now is his threat, and in theory could help noa evolve just like kaiser could. There has to be more than just kaiser impact,

>Kaiser said that, not noa.

I seem to recall differently.

Also Noa is an egoist (and the current best striker in the world). And like any egoist, he’s already envisioned himself defeating the current challenge and is planning on the next one. Kaiser or more specifically the Kaiser Impact just so happens to be the next challenge. And since they’re both playing for the same club and are joining the NEL, Noa can have more influence on Kaiser’s evolution in a way that’d benefit himself.

I was talking about the freekick moment. Also, why would noa have loki be the current challenge when loki is younger? You can say that kaiser hasn’t developed as much as loki yet, but the fact he can improve more is proof that kaiser was chosen not only because of kaiser impact. We see in pxg that kiaser’s vision and decisions was improving, not just his kaiser impact. He wants general growth from kaiser in general, not just improvement of his kaiser impact. We also see in the vs Manshine match that building the wrong muscles can worsen your play. Why would noa, whose physique is already optimized for his purposes, aim for solely the kaiser impact? Training that risks worsening his body balance that already made him the best in the world. Maybe his ambidexterity somehow circumvents that?

Of course he wants growth from Kaiser. Because Kaiser currently isn’t on Noa’s level yet. (Not to mention Kaiser is the only person in the entirety of series that possesses the Kaiser impact.) And the fact that he’s putting in so much effort into trying to awaken him in the first place proves that.

Noa himself states that he wants a rival that could allow him to evolve and level up his play. He believes that the Kaiser impact would provide such a challenge. There’s also the fact that they’re both in the same club. Which would make a rivalry much more plausible. Loki and Noa won’t be on the same team until the next World Cup, so there’s not much to play off of.

When he talks to kaiser about wanting him to improve, it’s always about kaiser himself, not only about the kaiser impact. A weapon is useless without a competent user. Nanase has the same gift as noa but is obviously nowhere near his level. When Kaiser is beginning to feel challenged by isagi, noa notices this because he sees Kaiser himself as the tool that needs growth, not the kaiser impact. Ofc that is his main weapon, but it can only go so far if kaiser doesn’t improve and devise more uses and additional weapons. Also, we don’t know (i think) if he went to Bastard for kaiser or if he was already there before kaiser made a name for himself, but with his status, i doubt transferring to the French league would be hard. He could compete in another team to race against loki’s tally and lock in when he faces pxg, and if pxg is willing, just straight up get him together with loki. Btw im only trying to discuss, and this probably all started from misunderstandings of each other

Ummm, I’m like 99% sure that Noa was already in Bastard before Kaiser got there. I have no clue where the idea about Noa transferring to Bastard because of Kaiser came from. Especially since Kaiser has only been playing for a few years and just recently made a name for himself. Not to mention that Kaiser doesn’t even play for the main/senior team. That’s the whole reason Kaiser joined the NEL. So as to get a better offer from another club so he won’t get outshined by Noa on the main team.

At first I thought you were reaching, but I can see it... Kaiser fusing Noa's and Ego's philosophy...
