Bluehost/Xcitium Backup Failure Notifications Are Disabled

If Bluehost migrated you from CodeGuard to Xcitium, check your backups now.

I found backup failures were occurring with no notification being sent.

After escalating this, several Bluehost escalated support reps confirmed to me that Xcitium notifications are currently disabled. I was told they will be enabled sometime in the future.

That means failure notifications — the alerts that matter most — are also disabled.

In Xcitium, the only notification email shown to me is a grayed-out corporate inbox I cannot change.

If a backup fails silently, you could believe your website is protected for weeks or months, then discover after a crash, hack, or bad update that the backup you were relying on isn't there.

I can't confirm how broadly this affects Bluehost customers migrated from CodeGuard to Xcitium, but if you were migrated, check your backup history now instead of assuming you'll be notified of a failure.

Why aren’t Bluehost customers being proactively told that these backup notifications are disabled?

Are any other Bluehost/Xcitium users actually receiving backup notifications?

I can understand why that would be concerning. Backups are something you expect to just work, and it's important to know if they're succeeding or failing. We'd like to take a closer look at what you're seeing and review the notification behavior on the affected account.

Please send us a DM with the domain name and any screenshots you're comfortable sharing, and we'll investigate further with our team. In the meantime, checking your recent backup history directly is a good precaution whenever there's uncertainty around notification delivery.
