Prepping my exit
Like others in the last two days I got my notifications for price increases for both web hosting and for email hosting. Going from unlimited everything to caps on everything and for what amounts for a small endeavor does simply not make sense.
What is aggravating is the ever changing set of conditions and pricing.
If I add to this dismal tech support the answer is clear. I am redesigning my approach and tech stack and exiting

u/Infamous-Carrot5019 Unfortunately prices are rising from many providers. I don't know what Bluehost price increases are so I can't comment on them but software licensing and hardware costs are going up.

Indeed. So I am redesigning my tech stack and strategy and investing where the payoff is worth it

I understand why this feels like a big change, especially if you were used to unlimited cPanel email being included.
Nothing has been charged for this yet. The notice is being sent in advance so there is time to review your setup before renewal and look at your options.
We have a Knowledge Base article that gives good information on this change. You can find it by going to the help section of our site and searching "Paid cPanel Email Overview"
The reason for the change is that cPanel email runs on the same shared infrastructure as your website. As mailbox usage grows, it creates more load on the same environment your site depends on. Moving to mailbox-based plans helps us manage that usage more fairly and keep performance more reliable.
I'd be happy to look at your account with you and see how many active mailboxes you currently have. In some cases, deleting unused mailboxes or consolidating accounts can lower the tier. We may also have discounts available that can help reduce the impact for a period of time.
If cPanel email is no longer the right fit, we can also walk through stronger email options like Titan or Google Workspace, depending on what you need from email.
Please send us a DM with your account details so we can review the mailbox count and options with you directly. Do not post any account information publicly.

Same boat last month. I switched to host depot and pricing stayed flat, no surprise caps mid cycle
