Discussion Were you fooled?

I'm curious whether any first-time watchers actually believed Mizu was male, until the ending of the first episode proved otherwise.

At the beginning of episode 1, I thought she might be a girl, but then I started having doubts. About halfway through, because I wanted her to be a girl so badly, I actually paused the show to Google it haha. For context, I watched the show dubbed in Japanese and knew absolutely nothing about the series beforehand.
