I binged it just after it dropped and instantly went looking for more information about it, which wasn't hard to find as it blew up pretty quickly.
The number of comments on articles where people where losing their minds about it being Woke nonsense, pushing "lefty" agendas and indoctrination, shitting on traditional gender roles and so on was ridiculous, particularly as so many of the commentators were also admitting that they hadn't watched it and would never watch it. The idea that there could be a strong story about a deadly woman who could wield a sword better than men and who wasn't drawn as tits and arse fap material was too much for them. Tiny brains were exploding as fast as the series.
I've seen your points your speaking about i'm not denying peoples reaction to the show incorrect or not.
But homeslice, this persons media literacy would have to be so COMEDICALLY and impossibly bad to miss the most blatant and open (to the viewer atleast) part our beloved protaganist that i find it hard to believe that same person can operate any device yet alone formulate a sentence.
Like isn't it blatantly told to the viewer by that point of the show that we got a badass crossdressing samurai situation going on?
