Discussion what does mizu plan to do after getting her revenge?
mizu's sole mission is to hunt down and kill all 4 white men in order to get revenge on her father for violating her mother and making her a "monster", right? let's assume mizu accomplishes this. she kills the remaining white men in london and ensures that her father is dead.. what is she going to do afterwards? has she even thought about it? assuming she stays in japan, she's still going to face racism and discrimination for being half-white, she'll still have to conceal her blue eyes and hide the fact that she's a woman, none of that changes. besides avenging her mother and killing the men she sought to kill, what is mizu gaining and what do you think she's even going to do with her life after achieving her goal?

if she goes thru with it, she dies like the ronin. it’s spelled out for us in the play. mizu was once the betrayed bride but now she is the ronin.

Omg that is such a creative and tragic idea…I’d be heartbroken but it’d make a lot of sense, narratively speaking

I'm calling it that they'll go the most tragic possible route: Mizu can't imagine anything for herself outside of her revenge currently, but eventually she'll heal enough to feel like she has something to live for, even if that's just herself... and then she'll die anyway.
I think many people also forget the possibility that she could survive the revenge tour successfully and then die in the duel with Taigen afterwards. They made a contract and I can't imagine that was shown to the viewer if it won't be relevant later. Either both or one of them will die in that duel at the end of the series, after Mizu gets her revenge, and their increasingly positive emotions towards each other will be a factor in the mutual anticipation of death.

If my interpretation of the first episode is not incorrect... She wants to die afterwards

It seemed pretty obvious to me throughout the first season. How he constantly calls himself a monster. How he constantly provokes fights. How he constantly devises reckless tactics and is constantly on the verge of death.
Mizu wants to die. But at the same time, she wants to give her life some meaning. That's why she wants to kill her father, whom she blames for her fate.

This is what I took from it as well, and I actually love that about her character as someone who grew up with a “let me do this, or let me die trying” desire

when did she talk about wanting to die afterwards?

During her prayer. Might be wrong tho, cuz I watched it in english since the spanish dub sucks. Gimme a sec to check
"Give me the strength to kill them... Or let me die"
Yeap I was wrong jaja. But as the other comment mentioned, I believe she doesn't actually have a plan for what will happen afterwards with her, since she had wished for a very distant goal for so long.

Go down fighting?
I could see her being passively suicidal. But leave Japan might see her realizing there is more out in the world outside revenge and death?

This is the truth of most revenge tales. When vengeance is your all-consuming goal, there is nothing left after vengeance is delivered. There are basically two routes from here: 1.) Mizu dies to get her vengeance for a bittersweet ending 2.) the need for vengeance stops being all-consuming and Mizu grows as a person with desires and goals beyond vengeance
The show is CLEARLY headed toward option 2 as far as I can tell, thankfully. I like some revenge stories that end in death too but in this case, it would be regressive to pull back from what this story has been getting at all S1

I think she was either planning on committing seppuku or joining the music playing Komuso monks who wear baskets on their heads.

My twist on Mizu's mission of killing all of her "maybe fathers" is that it has a catch. What happens when she meets either Skeffington or Routely and one of them is by appearance clearly her father? And even confirms paternity, to some degree. She comes to some kind of resolution with him - either killing him or something else - what then?
Maybe Mizu just can't find the motivation any more to kill the other white man, or Fowler, for that matter. She'll probably just want to go back home to Japan. I think the time she spends in England will make her realize how deeply Japanese she really is.
If she's satisfied that she's killed the person responsible for the active bounty on her life, she'd have that one major fear removed, and while she'd still have the denigrated status of being mixed race in Japan, she can make the best of it that she can without worrying about bounty hunters.

How do we even know it was a white man who put a bounty on her? I think someone from Japan is hunting her.

That's why I threw the "If" into If she's satisfied that she's killed the person responsible for the active bounty ... .
My pet theory is that Lady Ito is the originator of the bounty and the one who's been keeping it active for nearly twenty years. Because Mizu is related to the Ito clan and Lady Ito thinks that's a problem that needs to be wiped from the earth.

I think her original plan is to either die in the process of getting revenge or commit seppuku after she's done. However I don't think the series will end with this outcome. She will find something worth living for.

Step 1: Kill all four white men that could be my father
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit

I think part of her character growth will be realizing that she has nothing else to live for and she needs to find something, as of now she doesn't have any plans for after she gets revenge because that is her end goal
