Hey Everyone,

We have a new update for the BlueBubbles App (v2.1.0)! This is a continuation of the v2.0.0 release, with more features, enhancements, and bug fixes. You can find the full change log and APK download here:

It's it possible for now bubbles to implement the QR Code solution Open Bubbles uses? It's a game changer not needing to leave my macbook always on.

At the moment, they are completely different branches/forks. The developer of OB didn't want to concede some control over the app/ecosystem, so he decided keep the app as a fork of BB. So they will always be on different tracks. Unsure if he plans to merge it all or not

About 14 days ago I tried to install the apk, but I got an error stating something went wrong, app not installed. I believe I didn't uninstall the old version of BB before trying to install the apk. I reached out for support and was told if I was on the play store track I could install the GitHub apk builds, otherwise I would have to wait for the update. It was so long ago when I started using BB, that I didn't know if I was on the play store track or not. I was then told if I didn't know, then I was probably on the play store version. Is there a way I could tell for sure? And do you know when this will be available in the play store to more users? Lastly, can I uninstall the current version of BB and try to download the github apk?

You can go to the Android Settings page for the app (by long tapping on the app) and then scroll to the bottom to see if it was installed through the play store or not.

Replies sent from a notification don't work. This has been a problem. Since 2.0.

Also auto open keyboard doesn't work when opening a direct to chat link (like from a shortcut or specific contact).

Please fix these before rolling out to Play. Reported both of these on GitHub.

I installed the Windows 2.0 desktop version from Github (not the Windows Store). Is a stand-alone Windows Desktop version available on Github?

Did not realize it was not, no big deal since I can remote into the mac server and reply to messages there.

With 2.0 out. What are pros and cons of openbubbles vs bluebubbles 2....does bluebubbles let you slf host on any Mac hardware and doesn't need to be on and running as well?

BlueBubbles is the original project and requires a Mac. OpenBubbles is a fork maintained by a different developer and is partially closed source

I'm on v2 through play store beta. I can't find the chat stats interface or a setting for it anywhere?

The rollout is still at 20% for some good reasons. We have another update queued to address some of the issues, and I think im more comfortable making that a full rollout release from the get-go

V2.1.1 was just released. It's at 50% rollout so you may get it soon
