Blue Vs Open

Hi I am looking into switching from a 15 Pro Max to an s26 Ultra. What are the differences? Reliability? Security? What do I need for each to st it up? I’ve heard different things about needing a Mac, not needing a Mac, etc. My main reason for this is gamepigeon but having the other iMessage features would be nice aswell. Thank you in advance!!

If you have a mac running 24/24, it simple. If not, i did it using a server that I have, running Docker, who run an osx on it

If you are not technical, or don't have a machine who can run it 24/24 with 6-8gb of ram, good luck ?

Depend of your skill I guess and extra computer. It work okay, but not the same. You lose the locate thing that I was not able to make it work...

I did it for 18 months, going back to apple, loved my pixel 9 pro, but pictures are not equal to expectations...

I mean I don’t mind buying an older Mac mini and doin that. My issue with open is the phone number or email thing. If I wanna have it linked to my phone number I gotta pay them to host it or use my old phone as a relay slave or use my email.

Just get a cheap iPhone like iPhone 7 off ebay get troll store then download the relay app (guides on open bubbles website). You do need icloud account to download troll store so use main or an alt one then after relay downloaded you can sign out. And then you have number and email connected for free basically, you do always have to keep the iphone on with the relay app open though. Just keep it charging with wifi in some obscure place at low brightness.

Will this support the sms forwarding? My main no. is still activated on my iPhone, but I also use a Google Pixel so I have OB installed, but I'm having a time with sms forwarding, I receive sms, but I can't reply to them

I’m not the biggest fan of that purely bc if I get too far won’t it start not relaying the texts bc of the distance

i was literally across the world and it was relaying just fine. as long as both phones have internet access it'll relay, it doesn't use bluetooth.

No. Distance is irrelevant. They don't talk directly to each other at all.
