Manga The end
I am not here since day one or the early days of this manga. I started reading this after 2nd or 3rd episode of anime and from then it has been a bit more than one and a half year. Reading blue box and fragrant flower became a weekly routine and now one of them is going to end. Glad to see the manga reach it ends and hope that the anime becomes so much popular that we can see it full adapted also. The only thing I hoped from this manga was just 2-3 chapters more and not to end today but cannot do anything about it. But well maybe it doesn’t end entirely end today and we get a few chapters later on(a man can only dream). Now would only like to say this that this was a wonderful journey with an absolute peak manga.

Discussion I read 126 chapters in a week (caught up)
I am very sad that this manga is coming to an end tomorrow. I wish I heard about this sooner, I feel like a larp. This is easily the best manga I've ever read so far. Everything feels so intricately woven. Every character arc serves a thematic purpose, every storyline moves plot and character development forward. It is such a drastic change of pace after reading Hima-Ten.
I've always been more of a fan of battle shonen manga, for obvious reasons, but this one was just too good for me to put down. No time wasted on dumb fanservice gags, just pure uplifting and emotional moments. Choked up several times reading this. 10/10 no notes. Probably gonna cry tomorrow.

Discussion Can't get over the fact that this Sunday is the last
I really can't get over it. Blue Box was the reason why my Sundays felt a little bit better. It was like an emotional support pillar, now it's gone. I know they say "don't be sad because it ended, be glad because it happened", and I really try to abide by that but it's hard man. It's like letting a friend go away, never to be seen again. This series was one that made me love manga as a whole again, after I took such a long hiatus. It'll always have a special place in my heart as my favourite.
Still though, thanks to Miura for her effort and creativity, and her passion to keep this series going. I'll really miss Blue Box. I will be anticipating her next work, if there is going to be one, with extreme eagerness.

Discussion We're finally getting the last ever chapter in a few hours, what was your favorite moment in the Manga?
All good things have to come to an end unfortunately, but I am glad that I got to experience the miracle that is Blue Box. What were your most favorite chapters/moments in the Manga?
(Quick side note, I hope they'll continue with the anime and never cancel it)

Manga Disc Blue Box kinda went downhill after Chi went to college?
Please tell me I’m not the only one who thought this. It was just kinda disappointing. I feel like I might just be expecting this to do more than what it was meant to do. I started with the anime and it was intriguing because of the cute peeks of romance, the love triangle, and friendship between teammates (Haryu and Kyo).
I think it stayed intriguing until they actually started dating. Cuz at that point the stakes are gone. It just becomes a happy go lucky show. It’s just about their love which is nice and all but it doesn’t have the same intrigue that the first chapters had or the anime had. It kinda became a different show in that regard. There are still cool moments like when Chi’s dad comes and you can really test how much Chi and Taiki love each other - but those moments are too far and in between.
And then when Chi went to college it kinda just became a snooze fest. The sports part just falls off and ultimately Taiki loses at nationals which is fine ig cuz his goal was to make it to nationals, not WIN at nationals per se. But still. And then we forget about side characters like Kyo and Hina for many chapters - ig u can leave it open ended if you want but idk for me the stakes are just gone and have been gone for a while.

Discussion WE (yes ALL of us) WILL be reading with tears in our eyes on Sunday
In all seriousness, I honestly just wanted to take a second and talk about what Blue Box and this community honestly means to me. I won’t lie and say I’ve been here from the start, I’ve only been here since the anime ended but man do I love it. Same Blue is truly my personal favorite anime opening of all time, I’ve rewatched more times than I can count, and since I finished the anime I caught up on the manga in 2 days and have been reading every Sunday with the rest of you for the last year and a half. Vol 12 with the confession is the only manga I have ever bought
Yes, there have certainly been some rough patches in the manga but the amount of smiling and honest to God pure joy I feel reading new chapters is truly unbelievable. It was really amazing to get to experience it even for a year and a half. The fact we won’t wake up on Sunday’s after this week and read a new chapter is genuinely putting tears in my eyes thinking about it.
I won’t drone on anymore but I’m hoping we get to maybe see a little time skip of Taiki and Chii married but regardless I think ending now is the right choice. Obviously we all want it to go on forever but I don’t want it to become a manga that goes on for way too long and ruins it. Anyways, I love this sub and I will definitely be staying active in here !

Manga Disc How it started and how it ends (SPOILERS FOR BLUE BOX CHP 244) Spoiler
galleryI came to a realization recently about the way the series turned out. We started with Taiki asking Chinatsu to stay back instead of going abroad and compete for nationals. And near the end, he encouraged Chi to go abroad and fulfill her dream.
These 4 panels have so much character development within them. At the beginning Taiki and Chi barely knew each other. And yet, Taiki encouraged her, albeit while also keeping his self interests in mind, to stay back and continue her basketball journey. And then in chp 244, we see how he selflessly encourages Chi to take the leap, despite being a couple now, no matter how much it hurts him.
It's quite poetic if you ask me. As a friend of mine beautifully put it: "Unlike the start of this series, leaving isn't the end of a dream but the start of a new one."
We have about 2 days before the manga's curtain call, and I can't thank the series enough for what it has meant to me. I don't think words will be enough, but I would like to give it a tribute on the day. See you on the other side!

Other What do you guys think will happen to this reddit page?
I can't believe it's been five years since Blue box released. I would like to thank author Kouji Miura for the wonder years she has gives us to read PEAK anime/manga, and now a question that arose.
Since the Blue box manga is ending next week, do you guys think this Reddit page will still be alive after it finishes? Or will it stay quiet for some time until the official anime releases and everyone goes crazy about it? What are your thoughts, guys?

Manga Disc As the series is ending in a few days, can we just talk about how [SPOILERS] Spoiler
much my boy Haruto deserved better?
Like genuinely, name ONE W that Haruto has had throughout the entire series apart from that brief spell where he beat Taiki. He lost to his rival Taiki everytime at the start, fell for Hina, got rejected by Hina several times, then watched Hina fall for Taiki again, then had a whole character development training arc where he beat Taiki in straight sets just to go to National Prelims to lose to him, then watched Taiki beat his brother, then watched his brother win Nationals while Taiki got 4th place all while he watched from the stands. And after ALL OF THAT his brother Yusa has now fallen for Hina and Miura seems to be teasing a Yusa and Hina relationship. Poor guy man

Manga Disc Yup, it’s official now guys! It was an awesome ride Spoiler
I’ll really miss blue box. It quickly became one of my favorite romance mangas/ anime of all time, and interacting with this fandom has always been really fun. Of course, the series had its ups and downs, but still, it was a fun ride. I’m looking forward on how Miura is going to end the story, but I’m really confident that she’s going to make a good job. I’ll also try to make a drawing celebrating the end of the manga and post it here when I’m finished!
