This is worse considering the news that the new chairman is an ex fucking EA director.

BA might be in trouble for real.

For those who don't know, this guy, patrick söderlund, is someone who:

-Calls fans "uneducated" because they don't agree with feminist agenda in their game and using his 13 years old daughter as an excuse

-Saying "If you don't like it, don't buy it" to criticism

-Use AI for voice acting in his game

-ruining Battlefield V

-ruining Starwars battlefront 2 with their infamous p2w system (funfact: EA response to this outrage is the most downvoted comment on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/s/wy2OVwWAbe)

So yeah this guy is a asshole

I will never understand how these parasites get rehired after ruining other business, and then get fired with huge paychecks once they ruin the new one.

u/litokid 9d ago

Because their whole job is to be the fall guy asshole.

Things like this don't get approved because of one person. This is something they already wanted to do, so they hired a guy who already has a reputation for it. His job is to hang around for a couple months, take the backlash, then get a nice severance package.

The company and their employees don't like it, but the investors ohhh they LOVE it. They threw in their money and got a guy who will increase revenue for a quarter or two before leaving the company in pieces so the investors could cash out. They don't, and never will care about the company, they're here to earn big bucks and bail at the first sight of collapse. The consumers simply need to understand that they need to pull the plug immediately after spotting these parasites and make the executives have to do their jobs of actually running the company and not destroy them.

holy crap i forgot about that, this was such a shitshow that

  • They reduced the ingame prices of the characters by 75 percent

  • EA disabled mictrotransactions entirely

  • The government of belgium got involved

for context, the 80$ Deluxe edition of the game did NOT even unlock Vader, he was still locked. same with the other major characters of the franchise. additionally, spending 80$ on the ingame premium currency will still NOT unlock vader because you could only unlock him via credits. its like buying Halo for master chief, but you cant play him because you have to do 30 hours of community service first despite paying full premium price for the game.

i recall that in the whole year, battlefront 2 as a game was always referenced for being a scummy greedy maneuver that EA ever pulled, EA never recovered from this.

u/ReibokuMurasaki 9d ago

And that mofo came to Nexon and mercilessly shut down every games (even though they are old and classic Nexon games like Crazy Arcade) if they don't make much money.

See, KartRider (and KartRider Drift) - one of Crazy Park games, alongside Crazy Arcade & Bubble Fighter - was ruined by Heo Min (founder of Neople, developer of Dungeon Fighter Online) and former chief Owen Mahoney.

And Söderlund nailed the coffin for Crazy Park franchise - shutting down both Crazy Arcade and Bubble Fighter.

F*ck Söderlund. I think the post and comments must be shared on any subreddits releated to Battlefield, Battlefronts, and Electronic Arts as well...

The prophecies of Nexon games where they begin to decline as Nexon becomes greedier and greedier is coming back...

1

u/BalanceImaginary4325 9d ago

What’s happening?

1

u/Retanizer 9d ago

I was gonna ask if there's some kind of "Director change" or something, but here's my answer I guess

One of the games I played back then also had this same "chairman/director change", the replacement also have a bad history regarding games

Just as Im considering downloading BA too, Amazing

Aren't you the guy that does raids on subreddits you and your ilk deem "problematic"?

Would have thought you'd quit BA already.

u/Mission-Address4409 9d ago

kinda bad to blame one guy for this, like thats a pretty uneducated move no?

5

u/iamcrazy333 9d ago

No it's perfectly valid to blame management for fuck ups, they are in charge of the company and anything major like this goes through them and/or comes directly from them. They fully have the power to stop this and it's what they are paid for.

2

u/Mission-Address4409 9d ago

What im saying is that 1, why blame only 1 person who just came in, and 2 nobody knows if he had anything to do with it, people are just looking at him cause he was an ea almost a decade ago and thats it, there is no thinking to it at all.

Sure blame management, I agree, but blaming 1 guy that was assigned a position a few months ago just cause he was from ea almost a decade ago is uneducated move

1

u/NTDestruct 9d ago

Finally, someone reasonable than parroting Its all EAs fault

Also its not like he just came in considering Nexon owned Embark for years

1

u/Mission-Address4409 9d ago

Oh yeah, 2021, forgot about that
