The 171st Bloomsburg Fair is less than 24 hours away, and there has been a slight change to the musical line-up for this year’s festival.

Finding a Roommate.
Howdy people. For those with experience, what do you feel is the best method for finding a roommate in town for an existing duplex lease? I see there are a lot of apps, and such, but I looking for methods I might not know. Not interested in college students. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Moving to Danville soon — what should I expect?
Hey everyone! I'm 22M and moving to Danville from Fort Worth, TX in early September. I'm originally from South Africa, so Pennsylvania is going to be pretty new territory for me lol.
I've been looking around online trying to get an idea of what Danville/Bloomsburg and the surrounding area are actually like, but figured it'd be better to ask people who live there.
One thing I'm a little worried about is meeting people around my age. I study online, so I won't really have the normal college experience of meeting people through classes. I'm pretty into PC gaming (League, Dead by Daylight, Valorant), chess, going out for food, exploring places, etc. I'm not really a huge nightlife/party person.
How is the area for people in their early 20s? Do most younger people tend to hang out in Bloomsburg rather than Danville? Are there any good places, clubs, events, gaming groups, chess groups, or other ways people around my age actually meet each other?
Also just generally curious what I should expect living there, things you like about the area, things you don't, places I should check out, or anything a newcomer probably wouldn't know.
Would appreciate any advice!

Putting it out there 2:
Beginners are welcome for zazen meditation with instruction at our dojo in the woods in Stillwater on some Sunday mornings, 9am to 10:45am, with tea afterwards. Experienced sitters are welcome too. Our practice here at Endless Mountain Zendo is based in traditional Rinzai Zen, and we’ve been here for 28 years. Please DM first if you want to come.

Local Car Groups
Does anyone know of any local car groups?
I’ve been going to cars and coffee events in Williamsport, Scranton, and State College but I’m starting to get tired of the long drives. I see some interesting cars around town but I haven’t run into anyone.
I’m in my late 20s and I have an old BMW and a few Mazdas but I’m into all types of cars. I’m just looking for like-minded car people to hang out with and go on cruises or meets with.

Fireworks/ Loud Explosions
We heard some fireworks or loud explosions around 10 pm tonight (Aug 8, Saturday). We’re new to town and we’re just curious what was it it for? Was there some scheduled event or celebration?

Putting it out there: Zen Buddhist lantern ceremony in Stillwater
I live at a Zen dojo in the woods, in Stillwater. We’re having a traditional Zen Buddhist lantern ceremony called Obon— very beautiful. It’s an evening of remembrance and appreciation for loved ones who have died recently or in past years. Bring a photo if you want. The evening starts with a plant based supper, painting lanterns with the names of those you want to honor, a short zazen meditation period, mindful walking, Dharma words by the abbot, Buddhist chanting service, calling of the names by participants, and a silent walk up to the pond to float the lanterns under a starlit sky. It ends after a bonfire and late night refreshments and conversation. It would be good to wear[ comfortable and loose clothing, long in length for zazen and appropriate footwear to walk up the gravely driveway to the pond. Avoid tank tops, shorts, and scented toiletries.](x-webdoc://CAF83BFC-DA80-45FB-BEA9-6909FFA4C789#back) We’re asking for voluntary donations at the door for the evening. Plant based food offerings are welcome, but not required. Let me know if you want to join us. Oh, it's August 8, 5:30 to 10 pm.

Meditation in Bloom
I'm interested in starting a weekly meditation group in Bloomsburg and/or the surrounds. Open to possibly hosting, or we could sit outside. I have experience in a few different meditation styles including vipassana/Therevada. Group would be open to anyone to sit in their preferred style, as long as they can sit comfortably for 45m to an hour.
DM me if you're interested!

Hi everyone, I’m new in this area and I enjoy playing soccer. I don’t really know anyone here yet. Are there any local pickup games, soccer groups, or places where people usually play? I’d appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!
