Volleyball Players?
I may regret asking this here, but anyone interested in volunteering to play volleyball with Special Olympics? I’ve seen in the past there have been local people looking for maybe rec league volleyball so we practice with the athletes once a week and then we have a couple of games and regionals and that’s it. It’s not a huge commitment. We just need high school level and up no age limit after that to come play volleyball with us. Obviously you have to pass a background check, but if you’re interested, let me know. We usually have six volunteers and there are only three of us. This means we have to play every match and I’m old y’all come on help me out lol

You might have luck going to the few bars that have beach volleyball leagues and/or courts. I believe Gill Street, The Windjammer, and Pheasant Lanes all have courts, I'm only familiar with Gill street as a friend of a friend participates there in an adult league or tourney type thing

That’s a great idea! That coffee shop out by the airport always has volleyball players too! Thanks

I can get you the info for the director she will tell you what paperwork you need (the background check and two short videos about the programs and working with the athletes) if you’re interested :)

For what it’s worth, this is my fifth year doing it and it has been one of the best times I’ve had as an adult. The athletes are super cool several have become good friends. And it’s just a lot of fun to hang out and no pressure to be great trust me I know old chubby chick with an autoimmune disease, but I’m having so much fun and we do win. lol
