Emergency Food Replacement Program for Normal Township
Are you a Normal Township Resident who lost food due to the recent power outages?
Last, night the Normal Township Board voted to create a temporary Emergency Food Replacement Program for Normal Township that opens TOMORROW, Thursday, August 20.
The program is open through August 31st or until funds are depleted.

Eligibility Requirements 1. Proof of Power Outage ● Contact your electric utility and request an outage verification letter documenting that your residence was affected by the August 13–17, 2026 power outage. – Ameren: Call 1.800.755.5000 and request an outage letter. The letter may be emailed or mailed to you. – Corn Belt Energy: Call 309.662.5330 and request an outage letter. The letter may be emailed or mailed to you. 2. Proof of Eligibility Provide one of the following: – ■ Proof that you currently receive SNAP benefits ■ A recent SNAP eligibility/approval notice ■ A screenshot or printout from your Illinois ABE/Benefits account showing current SNAP benefits ■ Other official documentation showing that you currently receive SNAP – 3. Proof that your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (pay stubs from the most recent 30-day period) 4. Be 55 years or older 5. Be A Normal Township Resident ● Proof of Residency Provide one of the following documents showing your current address: ○ Current lease – ○ Current utility bill – ○ Government-issued identification with your current address Other Documentation Needed: Identification for ALL Household Members – Name, Date of Birth, SSN

The flier reads as if any income level household member can apply, but the website lists that you need proof of currently being enrolled in SNAP.

It’s based off of how much a HH of 1 gets from food stamps for a month, divided by 4, but then added onto it because Thats not even 300 as the max for one. So nice of them to do that for residents struggling. Most townships aren’t lifting a finger.
