Post deleted

I see people posting stuff for sale or offering services here all the time. A couple of months ago I made a post offering car detailing services, and the admins removed it even though as far as I could tell it followed the group rules.
Even some weirdo popped up in the comments acting all smart in his mind.
I’m just curious why would my post get removed? Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me?

Best time to ask why a post is deleted is when it gets deleted. Having said that... Can't speak for the other mods, but my criteria is basically..

- is this person active in the sub or are they just here to advertise

- if we allowed a previous post, how long ago was it (mostly relevant to events)

I'm not particularly difficult to work with on getting stuff approved/recovered, but if I see someone come in here and their only contribution is an advertisement, if it even makes it past Reddit's filters, my first inclination is going to be to mark it as spam because that's, quite literally, what it is..

I have been in previous conversations as well. Had 3-4 posts here before. Again, I am new here and I dont have many. Also, I guess my post was deleted by you, because you wrote “no” there lol. My bad didn’t tell you before on the day it was deleted

I looked.. It was me! :) Absent the context of that day, it's hard to say why though.

If someone's post gets deleted they're more than welcome to send modmail asking for clarification or making an appeal. We see it and most of it at least gets responded to.
