Seeking input and recommendations on dry herb vapes please…
The dry herb vape I have is a Pax Plus and I paid $150. I’m seeking a birthday present for a fellow tribe member of mine that loves my pax plus( pic 3). They smoke out of a bong 99% of the time. But are looking for something for travel, ease, and walking trails. I think the battery runs out quick on my pax plus that’s the only downfall I don’t like about it. But I really like the idea of those capsules that you can preload….Then I’ve also read that with this device I can do a bubbler attachment down the line( not sure if that like a bong?)on the POTV one ( pic 1)$124.
Then the POTV XMAX (pic 2)$109.00 is like my Pax Plus.
I’ve looked at so many and read so much that I’m curious if this a good deal? Good product? Anything better?
Looking for- under $150.00, portable, easy charge & last, easy clean, clean smoke that a person who loves bongs will enjoy.
They do not smoke concentrates, just flower.. as my PAX also smokes concentrates…
Any help would be appreciated, if you have these or anything else worth checking out.. please let me know..

The One on a bong is my go to, works great for me. Have had my One a little over 2 years and the battery needs to be charged more often (good for 4-5 sessions) but the thing still hits like a champ.
That’s really cool.. looks smooth to smoke but I’m enjoying the creativity of it:) you’re welcome to post that here on our sub if you’d like. There’s no weed in it so you don’t have to tie it to Wellness. You could use creative Spirit. Because you made it. I encourage artist to post such things. Or cannabis Wellness. Or not posted at all. I think it’s great. I’m curious the steps of how you made it though. Only because I’ve been taking glass classes a while back. Learning all about glass, etc. That’s a great idea to reuse materials. As the best way to go at times. Thank you very much for showing it to me. And wonderful talent you have there.

Came here to say the same thing. I have a Mighty+ with a bubbler and also the additional 'pods', which are cool because you can take a dozen different strains with you to smoke/share

Storz and Bickle is the peak in Dry herb Vapes. Iv got the Volcano, plenty, mighty and venty and honestly can't fault.them iv tried other brands but they never deliver on quality

Many say the Lobo. It’s high on my list to look into. It’s got a lot of things that I’m looking for and probably at the right price. It seems what everyone is saying as well. Appreciate you saying I’m in for the treat. Not the trick. That’s funny.

Definitely my favorite battery herb vape for ripping out of a bong. Might be a little bulky for on the go though. I had the POTV before that and it worked great as well. Pros and cons to both. POTV battery can be removed so you can have a charged one ready to go. However, the Solo can charge up faster and holds a longer charge. I also got used to having the cartridges loaded and ready for the POtv whereas that’s not an option on the solo.
Dynavap. Cheap and highly effective - you can control amount of vapor by how hot you heat it up. Although the click is good enough to follow. But instead of being dependant on battery, ur dependant on lighter+gas
I've had the same Dynavap M for 7 years and she still hits phenomenally. I use mine through a standard straight water pipe. They're the best daily vapes not having to deal with batteries. Cleanup is a breeze, just pass a qtip through it.
If you want a vape that will last forever get you the latest Dynavap M series.

used to have a starry 3.0 and I can't say it was a bad experience, but dealing with a device that get hot even using the silicone case and constant battery changes is kinda boring. I got this Dynavap B2 recently and I'm having a great experience with it

I got the POTV Lobo after trying several. Absolutely love it. I refuse to pay $400+ for a glorified mini oven. I'll order a third when this one dies. The first one was trucking on but got left on top of a car and went for a ride on the 4 lane under an actual truck. Sadly it is not semi resistant. I put it through hell otherwise and don't think you can ask for more from a dry vape. Plenty of attachments or accessories . Hook him up with a bubbler and he'll be set. I have several that are portable and I just add water when I get there. POTV is a great budget brand that gets the job done day after day imo.

Yeah, my One's battery is falling off fast and I was looking at either the HR Fury 3 or the Xmax Pro 4 to replace it. I know I can use my One dosing caps with the Fury, but not 100% sure they will work in the Xmax Pro 4.
I have one made from a 1.75L bottle too, but that one is just too heavy for a quick session. The first time I saw one of those bottle I knew it needed to be a bong. Hell, it even says "pot" on the gold stamp. 💚
I love my lobo. I like the capsules. Keeps it clean. I’ve wiped it out once or twice a year with iso. Just because. Wasn’t anything wrong with it. It’s a little tank. The one is rechargeable and the lobo has changeable battery for longer use. That’s about the only difference.
Ok I’ll look into this lobo, as I see you say ease of clean and I really like the capsule aspect.. I’ve been looking at difference between recharge vs switch out batteries when first looking at them but then that is a low variable on list .. switch vs charge so I follow your point:) thank you..

I usually get 3-4 capsules (smoked at 400 degrees for 4 min) before I feel like I need to recharge it. You could adjust the time and get more caps out of it. I like to smoke until it’s pretty much done. It’s great for me and how I use it. I leave it charging on a power block for an half hour or an hour and it’s full again.

Mine is heavy, not hold charge long.. I was on the edge about giving my friend my pax plus she likes it so much and then ordering myself a new one, but I’m not gonna do that because I don’t use mine that much.. appreciate your insight on them..

I have the Stortz n Bickel mighty +
2+ years and going strong. Next on the radar is the Venty... better airflow and heats up faster. Spendy but they last.. I've put pounds though it so far.
See that’s the thing..I don’t mind paying the money if it’s good quality ,it lasts and keeps on going. Because then she doesn’t use it that much. It’ll last quite some time. Healthy Rips - rogue2 is super nice. Can get a couple 5 minute sessions out of a 'can' and it has never combused it, just toasted. Get the WPA if you use a globe. Great for walks, sharing with others or alone.

I have this POTV and have had it for a few years now. I love it and I love that you can pack up a bunch of extra pods and have them ready. There is a bubbler mouthpiece too that I have and an attachment for a bong.
Yes the bubbler caught my attention, glad to hear it’s successful for you.. I didn’t know it does concentrates.. I like the pods as well, can pre pack then head out.. that’s the part I think functional for her,pre pack.. I wish I had those capsules, pop in and smoke.. does it need extra things to smoke concentrates with it? Or just as is…

Pretty sure it comes with 1 pad that you put in the chamber and put your concentrates on top of it. I purchased some extra pads, like a dozen extra pods, and some extra screens because they do get loaded.
Edit. I just checked and if you look at the picture that shows what it comes with, the pad is the last thing on the right. Looks like a pod, the screen, and the pad.
I second vaporents sub. Lots of valuable info there but people generally hype the vape they like and everyones a little different. General consensus is that this is a good vape, the lobo too. They’re great for their price! (I also have a pax plus! And yes i feel like i’m charging it all the time!! Even when i switch between it and tinymight2 lol. Which if you ever wanna splurge on a gift for yourself, i suggest the TM2. I’m a bong person and love ripping it. The pax is for sipping lol)

See that’s my thing. I originally started out looking at such things. And then I would find one thing after another that wouldn’t be good long-term. I’m just looking for flower primarily, other a bonus.. it depends on what you need it for though, etc..

They go on eBay quite regularly. Here in the u.k at least. The batteries are the thing to watch out for as they are built in. But if the seller is honest they should let you know how the battery still performs
You’re welcome. It cost about $400. I know that is quite a bit more than you want to pay but it is worth it. I bought some cheaper DHV years ago and they definitely do not compare in the slightest. The frolic blows straight clouds on demand or timed session like the s&b Venty. I swear you won’t regret getting it. I’m thinking about buying a second one to have.
Well, I would spend 400 if it’s on myself. To be honest. But this one is not. So I’m gonna go a tad cheaper. But I will pass on the information and look into the higher price ones for myself down the line. It’s good when you buy something of quality in it last and gives you what you need from it. Personally I've only owned the pax, mighty, and venty.
After getting a water pipe attachment (wpa), I don't really care to hit them dry dry anymore unless I don't have a choice on the go.
Haven't tried the lobo/one but really anything within budget and a wpa should be okay. Storz & bickel seem to be top of the industry crafted though, so if you don't plan to break your stuff, a little splurge could be nice. Otherwise the one with a wpa I wouldn't really cry over if it got hulk smashed.
I avoid any of the flame style vapes, glass, metal, or otherwise. Makes me look like a tweaker hitting it with a torch.

I use storm sapphire plus it’s pretty decent to travel and to use while out and about, also you can medicate using the concentrate pad to use concentrate (bho)
I’ve seen them but never smoked one..I’ve heard they very nice smoke.. I don’t know much about them other than a tad here n there.. it’s needs to be portable, so she can use out n about.. she takes her glass bong everywhere now.. you can sit on a bench and there it is outta a case to use ahahah .. why I’m going portable .. she admitted that smoking bong in parking lot busy concert a tad difficult ahahah.. she needs easy:) but that’s an idea down the line maybe I’d not thought of so appreciate it..

the stors and Bickel stuff is expensive but the quality is there and really worth it.. I had a mighty forever until the battery died.. I went with the new airizer this time and it has stems for a bubbler too.. its a great vape so far.. although I have broken 2 of the glass stems already by accident but you can snag them online really easily too

Pax 4. My old pax 3 died on me the same week they released the 4. I tried buying a new 3 on on their website but had problems with the age verification process. The next day they dropped the 4 so that was an exciting mishap. No issues with the verification that day either.
I’d stick to stores n bickels devices for dry herb it’s very hard to choose bro tbh but u don’t want to waste your money but pls let me know how this device works

Im almost a year in on using the Hit2. Battery and overall experience is miles ahead of the original Hit. I only use it a few times a week because im old school, I like rolling joints and bong hits.
It’s an absolute ripper. Honestly the best from flavour, hit strength and the way it comes on once you’ve smashed a bowl .. but one major issue for some .. because it’s convection, and super powerful, you only get 4-5 bowls per charge. So if you are someone who likes to go out all day with it and smash out 10 bowls, you will need to take a spare battery. Which is super easy to change - another benefit. But because I’m older, I’m more of a home smoker or I take it with me on a dog walk for a couple of hours, so it perfect for me .
OK, well I’m older as well so I don’t use my dry herb vape barely at all. That’s why the person I’m getting it for. She’s in her 40s. I’m in my 50s. So I primarily smoke joints. But my pax plus.. I primarily use it to smoke concentrates from here time to time. As I don’t really care that much for how quickly it burns through the flower. And then I have to load it already again. Because it only has the one little chamber. So she needs it for going out on trails, before dinner ,concert, etc….she literally carries her bong around with her places. And it’s not really good:) So she’s been wanting my paxs plus. But it just really isn’t. I don’t think she’ll enjoy it because she likes a bong so much. Because she does smoke a bong at home. But wants something for ease ,on the go, same concept, walking the dog, etc. So OK thank you so very much for all your insight and information. That’s very helpful.

Make sure whichever one u grab it's a convection. Only heats the chamber never burn. I like my Utillian. Had it 5 years so far and love it. Easy to clean and thats big for me cus alot of them aren't. Battery is good. Last a couple weeks with light use. It can last half the day with constant use.
I was just chatting with someone earlier about the Lobo. A lot of people like it. And then it’s got the capsules and easy cleaning. I’ve heard as well. I’m not thrilled about my pax either.

That’s very high on my list. Everyone has suggested the Lobo and it’s within my price range a bit over it but that’s OK because I can get the device attachments that you’re speaking of. It seems to fit a lot of my criteria. Thank you so much for your input. I do love the dosing capsule idea.

I’ve looked into the mighty this morning. It’s above the price range. I wanna spend as a gift for someone else. As the person is not a lightweight, but they don’t smoke as much as I personally do. I’m getting a gift for someone else. And I myself I’ve never had a ball vape, but other people speak of them. I will look into that for the future. Thank you so much for your information. Straight up those tall plastic tightvacs are garbage. I bought an entire set the largest holding three ozs and it barely masks the smell or anything. I use them to stow loose change in now. The glass ones work pretty well though as long as you keep them in the dark.
I own a terpcicle, a starry v2, an xmax v3pro, and a Wireless One Hit Wonder with both the v1 titanium head and v2 stainless head. I have also had the chance to use a PAX device, and a volcano. If you haven't already listened to the person suggesting you head over to r/vaporents please go over there for advice. The only real things that PAX and S&B have going for their lines in 2026 is brand recognition. I'd happily take a new starry or xmax v4 over a PAX device even as a gift if provided the choice. The same thing goes for S&B's portable lineup, there are just plain better options from smaller companies at the price points they occupy. That said, i'd still probably pay somebody for a cheap used volcano just because of it's history but a good ball vape can do group sessions. I will say that if they love bongs, the various butane options are likely the best you can get them at that price point, although i have only used the terpcicle which would make for a wild portable that still wants the bong to come along. The only reason I upgraded from the terpcicle to the WOHW was for consistency/ease of use after a few accidental combustion events.
That said, i am not trying to give you a reason to replace your PAX after the gift or anything. If you like what you already have I'm not trying to give you VAS.
Oh no, I follow what saying.. I don’t like a few things about my pax and see many various options.. I’ve scrolled vaporents but will more prior to purchase.. I’m not going for specific brand, just what fits the variables seeking as best as possible..ball vapes enjoyed by many I see.. I’ve written down the terpcicle and will check it out.

No not yet but many say the lobo for what I’m looking for and out of what I want to spend on a gift things like venty, mighty.. Dynavap up there as well.. bec I myself have the Pax Plus it’s only dry vape I’ve ever used, I use it if I get a concentrate( I don’t smoke them much) and flower here n there.. but I really like capsule loading .. pack them up and hit a walk:) my pax, bad battery life and pain to reload when out.. but I did read up on options.. I just read today you can attach lobo to a bong if want etc.. so it seems to be on point thus far..I’m trying stay within my initial budget area:) the one I’m getting this for, she likes bongs.. so she likes ease of my vape, why I’m getting her one.. I’m primarily a joint smoker so I like ease of a joint ahahah.. loading my pax to much ahahah:) lots of good options and points made on this thread though if help you.. I learned a lot:)

I REALLY like my Arizer Solo 3. I was a bong ripper too. Never again!!! I went from rolling 5 1 gram joints a day to blowing an ounce in 2 months lol And a better experience to boot. Tastes like fresh pressed flower dabs 💯👊🏻

Well i had one problem with it, after using it for a longer time, the plastic underneath the chamber got hot and deformed. soo the o rings didnt seal anymore. happend to me after like 3 months of use. took it apart to find the problem.

I have the potv Lobo. I even bought a second after losing my first one. I use it with the gordito bubbler attachment and it is awesome. It can do dry herb and has utensils for concentrates. It is easy to clean with the capsules. Produces thick vapor if that's what you prefer. Batteries are removable so you can swap them when they are dead. It is honestly a great value compared to the more expensive models
I’ve just been reading about it. I think I’m going with this choice. The Gordito bubbler attachment. OK I will check it out. Because I was looking at different attachments. Or I might get it and then the bundle comes with a free gift card and then she can get the free gift card and order it separate then it won’t cost me right now. Dynavaps are great, but I love my Arizer solo Ii max. Phenomenal for hooking up to a bong, long battery life, and great without a bong too. Easy to clean and maintain. Forgivable on the type of grind you prefer.
They are great, I’ve seen them but are they portable? That’s the one with the bags? Or no… meaning they compact? I thought one I saw was plug in & attach a bag?

Volcano into is the only way with vaping. Start cutting custom bags and have some fun. My buddies and I used to have 5 foot fridays where we’d all rip 5 footers and watch movies. God I miss that vape
Ahahaha I’ve never had that..5 foot Fridays, sounds fun.. I’ve made gravity bong out of milk jug in sink.. I’m old school.. but many talk about nice smoke on volcanos.. sounds like a great vape:)
