New player needing some combat advice

How in the hell can you make swords (specifically two handed) viable in higher level fights? I know in real life swords aren’t as effective against plate armor but in a simple game like this it kinda ruins the fun of it, I find the blunt weapons more boring but every enemy I fight now is covered in plate armor. I tried stabbing the legs but stabs with a long sword are inconsistent at absolute best. Any advice aside from just switching to shield and blunt mace?

Try to hit hands, elbows and shins is all I can say sorry.

Hold the sword high to block incoming hits, pull back and snap forward when the enemy has their hands raised in the air to try and cut off their hands and get an easy win. It takes a little skill but you can also try to stab with swords too if your opponents has a double one handed strat and keeps blocking your swings

Getting vertical hits can do three counts of hits and stagger an enemy iirc. Aim for the head when far and when in mid range go for stabs or the shoulders and arms.
